Nice job! Beats paying big money for the OTC model and repurposing the SO tool makes sense. You can get interchangeable points like blunt points for that pressure screw.

Thanks. I have a snap on bolt grip set that the tips fit the pressure screw so have a couple of the points and a blunt point.

Decided to go ahead and finish things up tonight. I drilled and taped two holes for 3/8" bolts in order to bolt the snap on yoke to the square tubing to keep it in place and keep it from rotating while turning the pressure screw. I also drilled and taped some holes for 5/16" bolts to keep the arms in place while pulling. Someday I will sandblast the metal to clean it up and paint it but for now it's done and ready for use when I need it.

I did a crude one yesterday in a pinch. I took an unused 5/8" u-bolt for a project long gone and cut the threaded portion off. On the end I plug welded a nut for my drive. A minute on the lathe gave it a tapered point.

For the puller body I used sq tube 1.5x11ga. I initially tapped the drive hole 5/8-18 but (not surprisingly) it didn't hold up. So I just enlarged the hole and welded another nut in there. Still, after the second drum the threads were seized up, but it worked to remove both drums on a '99 Ram.

The jaws just came out of a basic clamshell gear puller kit I had.

No amount of heat, pounding, beating, penetrating lube or air hammering around the flange (of the drum NOT pictured) would make it budge. While crude this got both drums off for me.

edit: they still put up a fight. My 3/8" Fuel impacts would just stall out. I had to load up both sides heavily with my 2763 and pound the **** out of the drums to get them to POP
