Weekend wrench and part time DIY home improvement specialist. Craftsman provides reasonable quality and what I mean by reasonable is a place to exchange some socket or ratchet that has broken when I need it most.

Hrdayz nailed it for me, so I won't bother writing anything myself.

Craftsman all the way here. I once heated a wrench and bent it so I could get it around one of my header primaries while tightening a bolt. Drove up to Sears afterwards and the guy replaced the wrench no questions asked. :D

C' man here. Not a pro but a racer/rodder. Started buying one tool every time I cashed my check from working at a gas station when I was 16. (I pumped gas - what does that tell you about how long ago that was?) The bank was across the street from Sears. 'Course, this was WA-A-AY back when those great tools were made on our shores.

Now I buy by availability/cost when needed. Still snatching up older C' man tools at garage sales and flea markets.

Boxes are all Snap-on. Hand tools are mostly Snap-on with some good Mac, Proto, Channelock and Irwin/ViseGrip stuff. Power/air tools gets a little more diverse with IR, CP, Bosch, Milwaukee, National Detroit, Hutchins, etc....and my spray guns, Sata and Devilbiss.

Craftsman is 50%, I drank the Harbor Freight Kool-aid for about one year and trying not to do that anymore, and now acquiring used american tools. I am trying to move towards snap-on out of convienence, as the local dealer lives across the street and we really don't have any other options in town. Our local sears is a small hole in the wall and you can barely find the basics. Decent tool shopping is about 90 miles away.

97 percent Snap on, the remaining 3 percent Matco, Mac, one Cornwell inspection light, and a set of Craftsman inside micrometers, and a token Mitotoyo dial indicator, and a token S-K screwdriver.

As I said from the very beginning,in my tool hunts craftsman is king followed by about the same percent as the other tools.

Maybe not so much matco, not sure why? Ohio is home to Mac,Wright and cornwell,so they are around. Proto is out west so I do not see a lot of their tools.

You didn't put Mastercraft in the choices. It's the major brand in most Canadian tool boxes by far.

As my avatar name implies mostly HAZET. I only have German made tools to work on my German cars (VW and BMW). :beer:Pretty much 95% HAZET with 2% Gedore and 3% Stahlwille (torque wrenches).
