I understand that, but with the lines running under concrete, there is no way to cap the line off. It still has to be dealt with. Several sprinkler heads are served off that line in a "hub and spoke" so removing it amounts to substantial lawn surgery to basically re-do the zone, like I said.

I will probably end up hiring a sprinkler company to do just that: Tunnel under the driveway and put a completely new line in, and put in new trenches to run new lines to the sprinklers.

Lawns grow back quickly and sprinklers are installed all the time. Pretend like the line under the driveway doesnt exist. It's not like there are heads popping out of the concrete, so just go around it
