Can someone suggest a good broken bolt extractor set? Left hand drill bits and extractors themselves? I was looking at grip edge but not sure if the premium price is worth it.
Yeah, you read what I wrote wrong...it's simply the MAC version.....maybe I should have said the rebranded MAC version.Who do you think made the extractors for MAC? Grip Edge did
No worries at all.Yeah, you read what I wrote wrong...it's simply the MAC version.....maybe I should have said the rebranded MAC version.![]()
This is the facts. You never know what one will save the day.My advice is to buy every single extractor type you come across. There is no one size fits all for removing stuff. As for the grip edge I have had great luck with the MAC version of those.
Just follow the instructions and select the correct size drill bit.
It's the E-Z out style that I advise people to stay clear of. The more you turn the E-Z out, the more it puts outward pressure on the broken bolt until the E-Z out snaps. This is what matters more than brand or style. Once I learned how to properly use them and pick the correct size, I never had an issue with any extractor I've tried.
Is that the stupid tapered spiral cut ones? It's the E-Z out style that I advise people to stay clear of. The more you turn the E-Z out, the more it puts outward pressure on the broken bolt until the E-Z out snaps.
