Is there an 'industry standard' type of chart for buffing compounds, or even a commonly referred to one, that is common to find as a wall poster? I saved parts of the packaging for several of my compounds over the years and don't use them very often, so they have stayed pretty nice but are starting to get worn. Rather than writing it all on a note that I will lose or get ruined, or have to go to a chart on a computer or tablet every time, I'd rather have something on the wall like a drill size chart. Or similar to a drill index chart the smaller ones, 'machinist handbook bookmark' sized that I could tape near a machine.
I'm sure I could find a chart that someone could blow up and print, and maybe someone has one already. I'm sure some supplier makes one similar to Norseman/Fastenal making the posters of the drill sizes. Having one from a trusted source means something I don't do often is harder to screw up.
second question, related. my wife complains about how much shedding the loose wheel does. I've wanted to get a few different of each wheels to keep specific wheels for specific compounds. For the most part I have been using the soft with white and the spiral with black, but I've got a pile of things I need to do with red.
so the actual question there; I assume some brands of wheels are better quality than others. Do the better quality wheels shed as much as cheap ones, or maybe not much/not at all? I don't know what brands I have, but a safe assumption would be either HF or Craftsman. Any suggestions of better and/or do I need better for occasional polishing blades and tools after they finish on the belt sander?
Edit: I should mention this question came about while working with a 6" bench buffer. However after reading the suggestion, I'd be interested in any automotive buffing answers too, even if that wasn't my initial intention.
