The particular one I am using, I have to custom order a few at one time. It does not have horse power rating. 28 amp input and 16 amp output.

Wow Matt, looking good. And here I thought I might be the only guy that stamps his creations. For any trick tool or jig I've ever built I stamp my initials and year and sometimes what it was for on them.

You posed a questions a few posts ago about run rate at times you'd like to keep the noise level at a minimum. If I can remember everything you've done so far and not forgotten this one, then my apologies. But have you considered a 4-20ma or 0-5v flow meter and correlate your flow rate and working pressure and program the VFD to operate the pump at a dead offset for fill? Like I said if I'm recalling everything you've done so far, you're already there except for the flow meter/output.

Keep up the crazy mad scientist work buddy, I like it.

LXCam, i'm just using a replacement pressure switch unloader. There is a little blue aluminum manifold that houses three more adjustable NC pressure switches (and safety overload).
Here is the pic of pressure gauge and the on(green lines), off(red lines)

As pressure is taken from tank and it hits 125 psi, the main pressure control switch turns the VFD on at 38 Hz and as well the Freon chiller. If consumption continues into the next zone the VFD speeds up to 60 Hz, next zone 90 Hz, next zone 140 Hz. This is how it is set up when it is on "AUTO" on the switching block.

When it is in "LOW" the top two speeds never work.

When it is in "HIGH" The two high-speeds replace the two low speeds zones chronologically.

So when it's in low or high there's only two speeds, on and faster depending on its pressure reading.

And just as effective no doubt. After all fact of the matter is between your switching ability and what I suggested, no one would ever know the difference since the pump/system will offset the flow/loss.

And per one of your comments here about no interest in certain kinds of builds, I completely understand. I post maybe 2% of what comes out of this shop here because of just that reason, well that and criticism by the guys that have nothing better to do than try and prove you don't know what your doing. These are the same kinds of guys that can't even get up off the couch, wipe the donut crumbs off their face and actually build something.

But I'd be interested in your other projects, I'm very impressed by your abilities.

Thanks!

I've been working with kids for many years. Usually 5-6 apprenticing. 90% of them push hard and want to learn. 80% come back very successful in years to come.
This year I'm going to try to push through 140–150. I have come to realize, if we don't give our kids highly technical trades with actual understanding , sooner or later we will be all buying something offshore. In the next 2 to 3years governments will be pushing for "Homebuilt" trades again.

Elevation mechanics in the next 2 to 3 years will be the highest demand market for the next dozen years. Right now I'm trying to spearhead this.

I'm pretty easy. But I'm pretty strict. If you want to learn the mill, lathe, drill press, surface grinder, electricity, pumps, pneumatics, Fitting, welding... no food, no drinks, no cell phones, no missing time, just your desire to learn! I will feed you from there.

Those who wish to sit back and eat donuts, I will give them my best. Those who wish to chew on free curriculum, they stay every day for an extra half hour(not required) and eat their packed lunch. The passionate pack a lunch and are looking for the free curriculum. Something about, you drag a horse to the water, but you can't force it to drink.

I let the kids know, I've hired five contractors in my whole entire life. Anything else I have done myself. If anybody's interested in the five contractors I have hired, just ask.... I will make it a short list as it is...

I want every non-University kid to take advantage of their market and be very successful.

So, tonight I am machine up the stainless steel lids for the chiller.
Glued on some 1/2" Styrofoam and gave the SS a flat black finish on the outside to match the chiller tank.

I guess the last two things are making up the electrical cover for the motor (which it never came with). And deciding on whether I want the VFD display displayed or the left inside the VFD box.
