Building a pole building have few questions

Those look like pretty stout trusses with 2x6 top and bottom chords. If you post up the drawings for them, we can confirm your loads. I think they will be good for any ceiling material. The issue is going to be spacing- anything but metal and you will need strapping.

By the time you strap, install and finish, you could have done the metal and would have a better result.

The trusses are 2x4, no 2x6s at all. I may bite the bullet and just do 24" centers on the trusses and order them from Menards. It would be about $2000 for the 15 trusses and 15 posts that I would need. If I put the posts on 8 foot centers it would for sure save me on scrap with the girts, grade board , and header. I'll finish up my sketchup design and post it here for you guys to tell me right from wrong.

The picture looks deceiving then...are the diagonals smaller than 2x4? Because they sure look smaller than the top and bottom chords.

The other issue with 4 foot spacing is that you need roof support as well under the sheathing or metal. ( I don't recall what you wanted for roofing) Going with 2' spacing really simplifies things, you can go with standard sheathing and any top material and have a very strong building.

I would like to go with osb and three tab shingles for the roof. My house has dimensional shingles. But I am fine with getting the same color in the three tab for the pole building to save money. I to thought them trusses looked to be 2"x6" but on the phone they said they are an all 2"x4" construction.

If you are doing shingles, then go with the 2' spacing, makes everything simpler inside and out. I didn't think there was much savings on 3-tabs since everything is gone to dimensional. Get them to match, it is a 20 year decision...

It may b worth it to go look at those trusses and see what they are, then have them make more if it is what you want. Still get a nice savings?

I'm going to call in the morning to see how many of the trusses they have left. They want $60 a piece for them and menards wants $90 a piece. That's almost $500 difference for 15 trusses.
