That jack looks like art deco period cars and trains, but I will bet that the fit and finish from the factory wasn't even close to Don's.

Amazing restoration Don!! Glad you finally figured out the handle issue. The phone booth is really moving forward and it should look awesome in the new spot you made for it.

The jack was a fun project but more importantly the jack finishes off a long standing display that I started a couple of years ago
Remember this old blackhawk totem pole jack display AD ?
With that jack finished and in place next to the totem pole the display is complete

Back onto the Phone booth today.
i managed to get primer on the door grid and get the back panel ready to paint the front side of it.
And as long as I was going to spray some primer today I decided to get the double oiler cart ready for some primer. That meant taking the 2 pumps and wheels off the cart and also I removed the 2 cover caps to give me a cleaner working area.

Next is the right side of the booth this is the business side of the booth where the phone hangs. It has been smoothed and primed on the outside. It is soooo heavy that it took 4 of us to turn it over today so I can work on the inside of it.

Could you imagine the cost and logistics of building a cast iron phone booth in today's world, we'll never see stuff like this again. Looks great Don.
About $1 a pound cast in India (even cheaper than China). That would make a raw (750kg) booth about $1500 + shipping and finishing vs $3-5 grand for an original. The Brits made the earlier ones out of concrete.

That's what makes saving these things so rewarding, not to mention the fun in having them around the property.
I've been working on the western town a bit this week getting ready for the B I G G.J. birthday party!!!
The town needed an entry sign so I put up the posts for it. What do you guys think

Worked on the phone booth all day today while tree guys were working on the trees that hung over the BPG Man they were noisy
I've managed to get the inside of the right panel smoothed and the pits filled before applying a good coat of primer.
I have the first coat of primer on the center panel of the door so I'll block sand and prime it again before painting the inside
Each of these panels are so heavy that it takes the fork lift to move them from the shop to the booth and back again.
I'm not sure how I'm going to stand them up and bolt them to the base yet

The tree guys butchered my trees today. I hope they grow back and don't die.
We had the biggest one removed and tomorrow they will grind the stump away
They were cutting the stump down 1 piece at a time. I think that their chain saw was too small to cut any bigger pieces.
I found a picture of the trees from a couple of years earlier. You can see the center tree reaching out over the roof of the BPG.

Don, you could make the Big GG party an assembly gathering for the phone booth. Then you'd have a bunch of folks arguing over which wrench brands to use, what kind of fasteners, what color to paint the bolts, which panel should go on first, who holds the light, ugh, uh never mind!

Looks like busier than ever. You make primer look better than most of us make our finished stuff look.
I can’t believe you got those logs up and standing (how deep did you dig the holes?) so I’m sure you’ll figure out how to put that old phone booth together.
