Don, you made out like a bandit with the care package. I haven't seen a lot of the smaller oil cans? What do you think they might be used on? Some kind of industrial machines?
Yeah what drivesitfar says, that diet stuff is bad for ya. I gave up my Dr. Pepper's about 3 years ago. I was drinking about 4 44oz cups a day. Now I drink ice tea with 1/4 lemonade. A Arnold Palmer:D
You need to come to Kansas for your farm stuff display, see all the time at g-sales and auctions.

There's a couple really neat oilers in that box. They should display really well.

Hi Brent

I think that a special display case needs to be found for those small oil cans
I agree that there are some special cans in the mix

I love the small oil cans.

Nice to have you drop in again AZ
I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only crazy one around here.
I like um too

Man it is like Xmas every time I come in here Don. I love your Auto bodywork station. That is something for me to aspire to. I think I have maybe a 10th of what you have there. I see you have some Rage, the metal glaze you talked about and some guide coat. I also like the overhead towel dispenser you have above the station. Do you happen to know where you got it?

Also what do you have the air tools mounted in.

The care package your neighbor brought over is very cool.

Bret

Thanks for the visit Bret

My bondo cart was something I came up with in my last shop where I had 1 guy working bondo all day and I wanted him clean and efficient.
The towel dispenser came through my B.S. jobber But I'm guessing that tork towels furnish them on Amazon.
The air tools are sitting in regular air coupler.
My neighbor is clear full of surprises. We have 4 shipping containers full of old stuff that he loves to spring on me at least once a week. He was collecting for the past 50 years.

DON: you know when Bearsfan was mentioning his OCD was on alert i missed the wrench and thought he was talking about the mat being a bit big for the bench. it's amazing you have those cabinets alone, but to also have all the original tools that goes in them is very cool.

nice box of treats from your neighbor and i hadn't seen some of those before.

I won't get into the bad things about drinking a lot of DIET SODA, but just know that i'm going to teach you to make great ice tea some day in the near future and see if you can substitute that with your COKES.

take care and always fun checking in to see what you are up to.

Drives

Those tool cabinets were purchased in 1996 as sets and I was setting up a drive in bodyshop estimating store and I needed a Display that gave the customer confidence that we could take care of their broken car. you know good first impression and when I sold the business I moved the whole display into my garage.

Old Pat in the barn is full of surprises. Lots of great stuff.

I tried giving up my Diet Coke a year or so ago but couldn't find a good substitute.

Thanks for the visit and your concern

Hi. Herb
Those long thin cans were sewing machine oilers.
I know that the D.Coke makes my joints ache so I trade off with lemon aide after lunch.

Old Pat has a bunch more surprises waiting to show up. He likes to surprise My wife with fun stuff too.
All the rusty pieces that are hanging on her garden came from him and the wagon I just sent to the pinstriper also was dropped off by pat.

So I have a question for you Herb.
When I come out will you take the time to show me around??

After cleaning my shop last week I looked at all the quick projects that I have sitting around. So today I tackled 2 of them

This is a hand tire spreader that I picked up from the internet.
I ground all the casting marks out of it and smoothed it up. I polished up parts of it to look like chrome and masked it off and painted the piece.

The start after a little sand blasting

In the paint booth after lunch

Tonite

While waiting for primer and paint to dry I grabbed this thin line blow torch that I had started a couple weeks ago and polished the brass and steel nut

Before

After

A little color and some lettering and a new handle and this one will find its way into the party garage for sure. (In the mens room with the other torches)

Thats all I managed to do today

Great stuff!! The little oilers are super cool. I'd seen old plastic ones for sewing machines, but never metal. Nice!!

Really like the blow torch.

And the tire spreader with the over center lock. Simple and effective.

I'll be back...

I can't wait to pull the tape off the spreader and see how the polished steel looks with the gold color

Don, glad to hear you have a NW connection, Lisa and I lived 15 minutes north of Auburn in the Talbot Hills area of Renton, a delightful and decidedly middle class neighborhood filled with "good with you hands friends" who helped with every project we could have dreamed up. They gave me the confidence to open our current business. If you ever get up that way we are 2 or so hours West just past Sequim, there's always a guest suite if you get this way.

Man you do good work!!:rocker:

Be careful on that rocket, the government may want it back.

Oklahoma and Kansas are best in the spring and fall. Our winters are not too bad the last few years, but June through September can be warmish.

We don't have a suite but we have a spare room you'd be welcome to crash in.

Unless you show up when Dan's here:willy_nil

Attention to detail.

Finish.

And again, I have nothing to add but absolute respect and admiration for your work Don.

Wing looks great, and torch made me grin madly.

Don: great job on the ROCKET. your painting skills are AWESOME. you get the paint on and the prep and tape removed almost quicker than some of us could get our projects ready to paint even if we had the skills and the cool paint booth.

i really like how you took a lot of the equipment and the best ideas out of your shops to bring home to the Party Garage. having a BONDO cart, washing/detailing cart and all those cool tool holders that light up are just a few of the cool things i've seen. WELL DONE!!

good to hear you are still working on removing all the bugs on the Vette and guessing you are about ready for a road trip if they ever get the roads north of you opened from the landslides and fire damage.

cheers and have a great day!!

BTW we're hoping to be empty nesters some day in the near future and when that happens we are hoping to turn my daughter's old bedroom into our entertainment room and guest room with a Murphy bed in it and would enjoy having a few members over to spend some time while they check out our city in case you ever have plans to visit your old stomping grounds again.

Don, those glass door tool cabinets are sweet. I passed on several glass door fire extinguisher boxes of about the same size as those (and with reinforcing wire) at Hershey last week. They were only $20 ea and probably could have gotten the lot of 6 for $100 but my wagon was already full and it was early in the day. Went back at the end of the day and they were gone, of course. Still kicking myself for not going ahead and paying for them and going back later.

Just curious, are yours re-purposed or actual Snap-On.

Thanks Andy
I had dinner last nite with a guy that worked on those rockets back in the mid 60's up in Oxnard Ca.

Sounds like a road trip will be in my future

I'm south of Andy and close to Route 66. We're not to exciting but we have two open guest rooms.
Seaba Station us close to us. Its a great little antique shop and motorcycle museum.
We live on dirt roads so if your 1 ton has dirt allergies you might want to get a mask for it.

Thanks dreamingmuscle

I'll be sure to look you up if/when I get out your way. My truck lives in the dirt 24/7 so no mask would be required

Yep Shorty
Bring him along I need all the help I can get.
The rocket was put on hold for a week while we got ready for our yard sale and I thought I had ordered 2 decals for the wings but only one showed up so we're waiting on the other one.

Thanks Drives. That's the easy part deciding on a color is what stops me.

I've never been to hershey and That is on my bucket list.
The wall cabinets are real Snap on boxes and are tool kits set up for each box.
there are some tools in those cabinets that have never been used and they have been in my possession since 1996. (but they look good)

Couldn't get my buddy Pat to part with anything of any value for the garage sale. I'd put it out and he'd pull it back in the garage But we did do pretty good for a 2 day event About $1,000.00 for the effort. Not too bad!!!

Very nice collection. I really like those glass & natural wood counter and wall cabinet.
Don, what are the two tall furniture looking items on back wall, far right, behind wheel barrow.
I could have used those crutches awhile back. Lol.

Thanks Don. Do you deliver?

At first I thought organ was a desk of sorts then possibly an organ. Dresser looks like it's from Art Deco period. Nice.

Nice slugging wrench next to the turntable. Is that about 2-1/2" or 3". Two sizes I'm missing.:lol_hitti

Andy
That was the largest 1/2 wrench I'd ever held A good 3" across and about 15" long and I'll bet it weighed in around 30 lbs. Sold for $10

Darn I love a good yard sale. Around here all you find are baby girls clothes. And the occasional taiwan wrench. Or the very seldom guy with nice tools 5 bucks cheaper then new off the truck.

Hi Glen

One lady asked me if we had any clothes or kitchen items for sale. I just laughed and said No this is a real garage sale.
Thanks for the visit

That bomb is bigger than the rocket but I could see some of those large shells attached to the wings and we could smuggle those in no problem lol

Nice! I would like to have even one tester. Not much use for me to have a cleaner with the sand blast full of Australian Garnet. The old spark jolt to the finger is giving me mixed signals now that dead nerves are becoming commonplace.:lol_hitti

Don: looks like i missed a good sale at your place. i was hoping the fire hadn't turned it's head and come back around to visit cause i hadn't seen or heard from you in a few days. i know you are busier than most of us even on your lazy days and happy to see you sold a few things.

i'm more like your friend that doesn't want to sell much unless he has to, but i need to let go of a lot of stuff so i'm heading out now to pick up a few things and then GET ORGANIZED.

looks like everything is ok in your part of the world and i wish i could send you some of rain we had last week (almost 8 inches) and we are getting more soon, but sunny today.

cheers

It's been a busy week for me.
I've been building the front wall for the ice cream parlor and painting the tail of the rocket.
I got a call from my striper yesterday that the wagon is ready to come home.
I asked him to make a house call and stripe the rocket. He showed up around lunch time today and did the rocket and returned the wagon. He also took the flat blowtorch with him to letter for me

The wagon

Here is the rocket being striped. Tomorrow It gets hung and I can mark it off my to do list :thumbup::thumbup:

The Big guy is a friend of mine that came by when he heard that I was building a wall.
