Bulk air hose

Anyone have a decent source for 3/8" bulk air hose? I'm looking for a 250' spool of standard rubber 250 psig hose.
Everything I'v managed to find so far runs about a $1 to $1.25 a foot.

the last bulk hose i got was a 250 foot of flexzilla. and it was about $0.75 a foot with the reusable ends

That is a lot of hose on one reel, it certainly can be done.

Good hose like Parker 801 is expensive... but it is worth it. You most likely will not get 250' of continuous hose on a roll.

With 3/8” diameter @250’, how much pressure drop can you expect at the business end?

PT: Don't have to worry about pressure drop. Flow rate would be the normal concern. In this case, a couple CFM at 90 psig is all I need. This is going to be just a service hose for the far end of the property. Right now, if I need some air out there, I've got to haul out the portable compressor, 150' of hose and a 50' extension cord to run it. Kinda disturbs the neighbors at 3 am when I'm trying to get loaded up and gone by 4 am.

This might be a better solution and save time. Rolling up 250 of hose is going to take some time. You could have about 11 gallons of 165 psi in a tank like that. Quick and easy to fill and easy to carry.

Seeing 250' of hose get pulled back in by a monster spring loaded reel would be awesome!

Did the portable tank thing for a couple of months before I was able to move a small compressor up from the other house...Was a huge pain and took way to long every time.

Noid: Not going to be using a spring loaded reel...doubt they make one that big, but for enough $ they might...

We've got some spring loaded electrical reels at work. With about 60' of 12/3 industrial power cable on them, if they pop loose and get any speed going, it's dangerous. I've seen one cut loose and ****** a 100+ pound cart and it's contents about 25 feet and throw it around. Not a pretty sight when it's got a custom built maintenance computer flying across the hangar floor.

Not really...this is about 275....on the right reel...

Find a 30 gallon air tank from a "dead" 175 psi gas-drive air compressor. Mount it on a Harbor Freight 1,000 lb. Mesh Deck Steel Wagon, along with a 25 foot air hose reel. Charge it up to 175 psi and you have quite a bit of air at 2 cfm @ 90 psi. You can even tow the loop-handle version with a pintle hitch.

The whole idea behind this project is a permanent installation, and eliminate the portable stuff. Done the portable stuff for too many years and tired of it.

Saw the Flexilla, but haven't seen or played with field installable fittings yet. I bought a spool of the Goodyear red hose stock back in 1982 and made up hoses from it. I just trashed the last of those hoses this year. I've got some Legacy SmartFlex hoses, but don't really like them, as they are too easy to kink and catch on things.

If this was routine I might be tempted ti find a roll of 1/2 rolled pvc, dig it in shallow, turn it on when needed. Not sure if they make it smaller but with 1/2 you wouldnt know you were not next to the comp. They make it in 80/100/120 psi. Have never seen it blown out.
