How about all black with red trim?

Can you get the doors open beside the garage door rail? If not, you may want to rework the doors by having the glass cut and adding a rail in the middle. Opening the lower half would be better than not opening at all.

That is going to be so cool. Funny how having the right things to build around make all the difference.

Thanks! I need to post some of my before pics of the garage.. You wouldn't believe it... I actually was standing on the base cabinets screwing in the plywood to hang the upper cabinets and pushed to hard with the drill and flipped out the lower cabinet below me. I almost landed on the Fiberglas lotus! But came out unhurt

Glad you and the Lotus survived.

Can I ask a question? WILL YOU HURRY UP!

Just kidding, this has been a very interesting journey and I have enjoyed following your progress. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that my work sent a 53' trailer full of lab cabinets to the dump. For a year afterward, I could go in my shop, squint my eyes and see those Bad Boys everywhere! (They were red in my mind, also)

Great build and look forward to what you do next.

Sorry.....but....that is worth a "You ****"......

That almost gives me a woodie....I really like the glass fronts.....not only does it let you see what is in there...it will 'encourage' you to keep it neat.

Get a roll of masking tape and tape them off. Then paint the glass the color of your choice. It will last a few years and you'll have to do it again but it will look nice.

...and I remember cabinets and uppers like this from High School Chemistry. That ain't no normal glass. It's about a 1/2" thick and pretty much bullet proof.

I was thinking high school as well.

They original owner just build the garage over the driveway! The floor would rise and 6-8" in some places. I rented a jack hammer and went to town! My brother helped haul the old asphalt away to a local plant for recycling it t

Wow, that's incredible! How much work was it? My garage floor is concrete but it is also buckled, and I often wonder just how hard it would be to break it all up, haul it out, and pour a new floor.

I bet it would be a pain to haul all of the "stuff" out during the work too. Pretty sure I'd sleep in the driveway with my air compressor while the concrete dried!

Me and my friend poured a new floor... It came out ok for $800 in concrete and lunch I am happy with it! I don't have a pic but the only problem we had was the bull float was a little short so I have a bit of a lump in the middle of the floor but not too bad.

Insulated and wired for a 60amp sub panel and 110v 20 amp everywhere! And 110v 30amp, and 220 for welder, big compressor, and a lift

The asphalt was 3" thick and took 3 hrs to break concrete would probably be a real nightmare. I did the breaking and it took my brother 6 trips with our rinky dink trailer.

Damn Dude. You **** AND are Awesome. Way to go!

Lol thanks! It all started with me being getting aggravated when building a new work bench and having an unleveled floor. I was complaining about it and my gf said... I don't know why you just don't re-do the whole thing.. Well needless to say you don't pass up an opportunity like that!

That's true. When the boss says do it you do it.
The cabinets you got and the garage you built will look great together.
Some have gone to jail for steeling less. Great find.

Umm, yeah so I have to say that I think those cabinets are much too horrible for you to use, they would be better suited to my home. Please let me know when you will be delivering them? Please?

I. am. jealous....

I cracked one of the pieces of glass by accident. (Basically I just found it cracked) so I need to get one piece cut and pic up some rivets to reinstall the lower guide piece that goes onto the piece mounted to the wall.

From post #139 to now has been an amazing transformation; well done!

Your fine looking rides have a 'proper home' with all the work you have done. It looks like the Lotus had a 'bit' of work done to it also. If you could post more pics of the autos, it would be appreciated. The Lotus probably deserves its very own thread about your ownership and what you've done to it.

What's on the 'To-Do List' for their new abode?

Exiged, your link to the 'Lotus Lobotomy' was very good reading indeed! I'm not a track guy, not even a engine swap enthusiast but I must say your Lotu'nda series on 'One Hot Lap' has me anxiously awaiting 'Part IV'.

"To get there, I created a project plan, in which I identified as many potential problems as I could, as well as some items with a long lead time to procure."

This quote reminds me of another quote I've often heard...

"Those who fail to plan, plan to fail!"

What planning tool did you employ? MS Excel? Or did you use an in-house planning tool that you use at your company? And lastly, how many 'revisions, deletions, additions, and what-if scenarios' did you go through? lol

Finally, I've got to give you props for doing all that work in a garage you described as having a "Crumbling garage floor... sprinkled with magic".

Haha glad you like it! It's my friends website so I have been typing it up when I have time. Planning was mainly done in my head but I used to run power plant outages so I am used to scheduling and plan B and C scenarios :). The sprinkled in magic line was my buddies but the rest I typed up.

Btw I am a little bummed one of my finger pulls is corroded and below it is bronze so I'm not sure how to get it nice again. Maybe some other cabinet owner will swap one with me? Since I posted these up instead of hogging them to myself? Hint hint

go buy some of that mag wheels in a can stuff and spray em. It'll be shiny, almost like chrome. You'll want to clean that one up so its not all lumpy first though
