I got an image of the camper from a Google search (
). It is more than 1' too long for my garage, and it doesn't have one of those pivoting hitches.
I have three 5-gallon planters with large plants at the edge of the driveway to create some sort of blind. They are deciduous, but I move the camper further back on my lot in the winter so it's behind the kids' playset and out of sight. They all seemed to die as soon as I bought them last year, but they are coming back.
I do not wish to pay for storage, no matter how "cheap" it is.
Ummm... I have to admit something... I'm on the HOA board. DOH! We've had the board for 3+ years now. Everyone wants to complain about the community and "infractions", but no one actually wants to be on the board. I'm just trying to help out. And I don't want to be like the select military officers I detested and the managers I still detest by practicing "Do as I say, not as I do."
"The Man" is keeping me down!!! I don't want to take up all the space in my garage with this thing, even if I could make it fit. And the ******* bunnies are not allowed to leave the bedroom. I think I'll just continue with the movable flower bed and purchase some evergreen plants/tree/bushes or ornamental grass.
Okay, the requirements are becoming obvious.
1. The travel trailer is too long for the garage by 1 foot. The trailer does not have a swinging tongue.
RE 1. A picture/vendor was identified. You can install one or have on installed.
2. You are part of the HOA board and putting it on the side of the house is not allowed. No fence is allowed. Hiding it behind the the bushes will work for a while.
3. The ******* bunnies are not allowed out of the bedroom so distractions aren't going to work.
4. You don't want the trailer in the garage anyway.
5. You don't want to pay for storage.
Okay, I've got a couple of PRACTICAL solutions:
1. Change the hitch to a folding style and put it in the garage. Pull it out when you need to use the garage for something and put it back afterward.
2. Store it at a friend's house that has less stringent rules.
3. Carefully review the rules for the HOA and look for loopholes. Can you have a tool shed in the back yard? What are the maximum dimensions?
4. Petition the HOA for a fence. Tell them that you are putting a pool in the back yard. In Oklahoma you MUST have a fence around the pool.
5. Look at ways to get the rules changed. You can't be the only person that wants to have a hobby vehicle around.
6. Sell the trailer and give up.
