I am demo'ing my bathroom in my condo. Two of the walls, one behind the vanity / toilet and the back wall, have quadruple thick walls. Tile / Sheetrock / cellotex ?? / sheetrock. These two walls are "exterior" walls (another apartment unit is behind it). I'd prefer to remove just the tile and first layer of sheetrock. (just under 1" thick in total). One wall is 9x10 the other 4 x 10. And I will take it down in sections.
A contractor suggested using a angle grinder (diamond blade) with depth guide & vacuum attachment. Makita GA5040X1. Kind of pricey. $220
Is it possible to cut out specific depths with a less expensive angle grinder?
