Can I make 220 from 110?

yup I dont get why others arent grasping the concept.

Everyone understands the heater is 240VAC 5kW rated.
Some folks are calculating the current that heater would draw if connected to a 120VAC supply directly.

Others are calculating the primary current in a 120 to 240 step up transformer feeding said heater.

That seems to be the primary source of disagreement. Or not.

What phase converter are you using that steps down 480v to 120/240v?
