The right color that is. My siding is whicker beige. Everyone carrys or "can order" all the standards. White brown clay almond etc. etc. Does anyone know where I could look and see some samples. If not can I just paint and if so what kind of paint would work best? Thanks. -MATT

Without knowing where you live, there are no suggestions that will work. I know of a place in MA that would have the material that you desire, but that won't do you much good if you live in California. Go to your profile and put in your location. You don't have to be specific, just a generalized location. I promise that no one here is going to hunt you down and steal your tools if you us something like Los Angeles California, New York City, Albany NY, etc...

If it is the perimeter trim around the top and sides you can just paint it with regular latex exterior house paint.

Done. I'm in warm and sunny Michigan, tri-city area

Even the rubber part? It won't make it less pliable? -MATT

It will not affect it unless you really put it on thick. A light coat to cover and it will be fine. Every builder we work with paints theirs, some spray some brush.

What color is the other trim?

I'm not sure if I'd paint anything rubber in Michigan. In Montana, it gets cold, and I wouldn't do it here either for the same reason...once it gets cold, you might find the paint will crack and flake.

Can't rubber be dyed or stained? You might be better off trying to stain it instead of painting it, that way you could take the white trim and stain it to a close color.

What color is the door?

I believe that our trim is the same color that you're talking about. If it is, we took clay trim/weatherstrip painted the trim the whicker and left the 1/2 rubber the clay color. Doesn't stand out to bad. Also depends on your trim and door color. Your siding is whicker?

Heres a pic.

My house is clay. However, the back of the house faded and whicker seemed to blend better. I also didn't want any white trim on the barn. The windows and slider would only go with the wicker. I'm happy with the color choices but there is a bit of difference when looking at the front of the house with the barn in back. Thats mainly with low light conditions. Can't tell on sunny days. Anyway, this is the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks for the replies. -MATT

Our house is clay with wicker trim. I wasn't sure if your siding or trim was wicker. I know about the clay siding fading- 1 box of siding on the new garage faded. It's lighter than the wicker now.:headscrat
