First time I've heard of Capri Tools and was looking around for these stubby impact wrenches. Both drive sizes from each manufacturer looks the same as the other and both the Astros say Max Torque: 400ft.lbs while on the Capri, the 3/8 drive shows 220 ft. lbs. Any idea why it's rated less if it has the same internals and is physically the same? Is the Capri worth the $100-$125 extra over the Astro?

Capri 1/2 inch drive 400 ft. lbs of maximum reverse torque

Capri 3/8 inch drive 220 ft. lbs of maximum reverse torque

Astro 1/2 inch drive 400ft.lbs MAX torque

Astro 3/8 inch drive Max Torque: 400ft.lbs

astro likely has enhanced motor design .
while basically same base design astro tends enhance it more and on this model that is details like more head angle range & motor porting, use of patented dual port motor design .
For the price Astro offer great value as most times it the best enhanced version of a odm model tool .

I have the Astro since it was first released. I love it for brake pad bracket bolts, control arm bushings, ball joints, etc., where spaces are tight for a regular or even the Astro Nano impacts.

I got the Astro 3/8" and just tried it out on lug nuts tightened to around 100 ft. lb. Did nothing to them, just bounces around. Box says 400 ft. lbs. WTH? My impact gun zipped them off in half a second so not an air issue.
