Whatever you do, don't soak a bell-housing in de-greaser and then chuck it in the dishwasher!
Dare I ask if this advice is based on personal experience?

Makes me never want to eat out again. Not gonna eat at dwasifars house either..lolWhen I used to be a line cook in HS I wore sperry top sizers. They would get caked in grease. Ran them thru the commercial dish washer often.
This was usually at closing time, before the machine was drained. And before we would have a front of the house vs back of the house snowball style fight with the left over baked potatoes!Makes me never want to eat out again. Not gonna eat at dwasifars house either..lol
Those have to be the longest toes I've ever seen ...![]()
Very much so.Dare I ask if this advice is based on personal experience?
Asbestos in the dish washer, great idea.Years ago, a friend of ours had a Volare (or Aspen) wagon. It was loaded and in really nice shape. It also had those phones wire wheel covers. He used to put them in the dishwasher for cleaning.
You can eat it, but you can not inhale it!Asbestos in the dish washer, great idea.
I concur on these products. As a side note to cleaning and getting mats black again with a like new look without being slippery.
WeatherTech sells cleaning and renewal kit ( not cheap) but it WORKS !!!!
My mats were 5 years old…….swap to a new car……..used the kit. The kit will clean and renew 5 sets of mats or more.

Concur !Great idea, @dwasifar . Now I'm not trying to proposition you, but you must be single or divorced. I can't imagine what would happen to me if SWMBO found out that floor mats were in the dishwasher, but it would not be pretty.![]()
She would find that funny if she were a member here..lolI washed my sockets in the dishwasher while the wife was out. She found a 10mm in there when she returned.
So that's where they go.I washed my sockets in the dishwasher while the wife was out. She found a 10mm in there when she returned.
Can't imagine what the dirt and grime does to the pipes in your kitchen, and the dishwasher filters.
Oh I get what you are saying,...but I don't put dirt, rock salt, sand and whatever else is on a car mat into my dishwasher, those things are not on my dishes. My plumber would have a heart attack if I did something like that.Dishwashers are designed to clean dirty things, and drain pipes are designed to carry dirty water.
Do you only wash clean dishes in yours?![]()
Well, I do rinse them before putting them in to knock the big stuff off, just like you would do with dishes. Salt specifically I don't see as a problem; there is salt in food, and salt in water softeners, and PVC drain pipe is not affected.Oh I get what you are saying,...but I don't put dirt, rock salt, sand and whatever else is on a car mat into my dishwasher, those things are not on my dishes. Between living on a dirt road and having a dog, it's a futile effort to keep anything actually clean. It's more like a level of less dirty.Plus one on the leaf blower, I mentioned this to my wife, she gave me that look like, WTF, nough said.
