That wire stripper crimper listed below the sockets looks just like Snap-ons.

I like the knurling feature on those metric sockets.

I duno about the GW comparo. I have 1/4" metric sockets from both (12 point GW, 6 point Carlyle and the Carlyle are, for lack of a better term, 'crisper' or more cleanly machined or broached.

I might have to pick up a set or two of the 3/8" drive sockets...

I replaced my old Craftsman sockets with Carlyle's because I was breaking so many (scraped up knuckles from sockets splitting gets old real fast...). I broke 5 or 6 Craftsman sockets in the 1st month of my new job, since replacing them over a year ago now I've broken 1 socket.

You can scream "****" all you want but it doesn't make it true :dunno:

I was debating between this Harbor Freight impact and the Aircat 1150 found a new Harbor Freight new one on eBay for $40 bucks and bought it for home use... This thing is a beast tried it on my armada truck and Toyota Camry no problem taking thier lug nuts off or anything else I throw at it with my 30 gallon compressor.. It's a monster.. Your compressor is the problem or turn the regulator up to about 105psi it should one lug nut off intermetly or get a bigger compressor..

While we would all prefer Carlyle products to be made in USA, they source their tools from Taiwan's best manufacturers. Their quality is really on par with any of the truck brand tools. I think people would be surprised to see where their favorite tools are actually manufactured.

Because they are cheap and you can afford to dispose... but then if you guys can afford $20 a week you can buy truck brands... So if guys do this for a living save $20 a week on beer and buy premium...

I have a mix of SO, MAC and some Japanese hand tools and they are all fine. Haven't had a single problem with the quality of KTC or Koken sockets. I wouldn't buy any of the Chinese stuff though.

Yep. I think OTC is the OEM for those. I have the ones pictured and the angled ones. I also own the Snap On ones . The Snap On version is USA made absinthe others are Taiwan. The Snap Ons are definitely nicer. Especially the handles.

Uuuummm, we know where Carlyle sockets are made, Taiwan. Doesn't mean they're bad...

Marked 32 on the site paid 36 for the pliers plus shipping yesterday night they were 23.**. must be supply and demand. Very disappointed one of the few times i bought from napa and the guy behind the counter was complaining about the warranty hope there is a rep on this site.

I have the Gearwrench versions among others and they're sweet. If you shop around there was a buy one get one Gearwrench special where if you bought the 3/8 drive chrome metric semi deep set, you got the 1/4 drive chrome metric semi deep set for free.

Those Carlyle sockets look well finished inside & out, nice chrome. Hopefully SK will see this :lol:
I have standard length Carlyle mm chrome sockets and they've held up well.

Um, they looked pretty when I pulled them out of the box? LOL. Not really. Haven't used 'em yet, but they look really nicely made.
