Snap-on creeper had the original 3" casters for probably 20 years and the poly had chipped off of the plastic center. Purchesed 24 casters $12 a piece on sale from NT for various projects. Had them in OEM bags in toolbox for a year or so(life got in the way)
Went to use them and the poly was literally falling off in the bag???
Returned them thinking it was just cheap NT stuff.
Got some good ones from Grainger and installed.
Fast
-forward 2 1/2 years later and the new casters had deteriorated.

Creeper doesn't get dropped much, but on occasion my 10 year old is "helping":D
Also it probably hasn't been used 10-15 times total since the Grainger ones got installed.
SE Texas where summers are hot and humid, but it seems like it should last longer.
Any one else having these issues?
Not rolling thru oil or coolant or anything
Just stumped

Import poly fell off my pallet jack front wheels. Got poly HD from another source to try this time. It is black instead of cranberry color. We will see.

They make HD metal casters just for creepers, find them on the Net. I bought a set from a material handling company decades ago and never a problem.

It sounds like boot stories. DW bought a pair of hiking boots and wore them for about 3 weeks around the NW on vacation. After that they sat on the shelf for maybe 3-4 years. She put them on one day for some heavy rain and they fell apart before she got to the door.
My yellow tag vibrams are about 15 years old on my old hiking boots. They flex like they did back then. It's too bad I can't say the same for my knees.

At work they issued Rocky boots and Bates dress shoes. They both had models that disintegrated like that. One week you'd be fine and the next week half the bottom of your shoe fell apart.
