Would you consider them an upgrade from Tekton or Icon?
They are Snap On sockets with a less polished chrome - still nice but not quite as mirror finished as a Snap On. All else is identical from what I can see in terms of visual and fitment. I own almost entirely Snap On, been adding CAT for things that are less frequent usage.

If I were buying all over again, I might consider CAT as my top choice because the value for the money is very high and the quality/fitment appears to be identical to my Snap On sockets.

Add the part numbers for the sets you aren't finding online directly to your cart with the quick add feature. I was able to do that and all of them were available for me to pick up. There were a number of sets that didn't show up by searching for the part number but worked when I added them once I was in the cart. I purchased all of the 6 points sets shown in the catalog.

I could not add them to my cart on my phone for some reason, so I stopped in & ordered 3/8 deep & shallow 6 point, metric sockets along with a 6" extension in person. Not bad for $130. Great customer service in my local store, I was the only customer around.

You're a lifesaver for this trick. I live over an hour and a half from the nearest CAT dealer so I've been ordering online and having them shipped.

Does your 6” extension have the divots for ball retention in the female end?
It's through drilled & very heavy duty- USA stamped- Williams or SO?

Nope, drilled, on one side only, to catch the ball.
I have the same extension and mine is missing them too. That's why I asked. I thought maybe it missed a step, but apparently that's how they are made. An important detail to lack, IMO.

That is strange about the extension not having detents on the drive end. I have a bunch of Williams USA extensions, most are 10-15 years old, but some 40-50 years old, and they all have proper detents and not a drilled hole. I know I have a couple of Proto 3/8 extensions that only have the hole like that, and those are 40-50 years old. I'm actually surprised that anyone is still doing that; flashback to 1970!

Are the organizers for the Wrenches just the ernst one? I want to get some for my Williams supercombo, but im not sure if they would fit.

The ernst organizers do NOT fit the supercombos. The wrenches are too thick. On page two, I didn't noticed the rack that is included with the CAT wrenches appears to be metal.

I'm glad they work for you, but you can see the bigger 15/16 and 1" pushing the hooks sideways. My sets are slighter bigger and the 1" and 1.25" doesn't hold securely enough for me.

Hate to break it to you but that is how they function with holding the wrenches down. A 16mm Gear Wrench will push the hooks the same amount of distance "As you refer to sideways" as a 16mm William's Super Combo. All of the wrenches " push the hooks to the side" Including smaller beam brands.
I also have Super Combo's in sizes larger than 1 inch that were originally in that organizer. They just ended up in another drawer with longer and larger sized wrenches.
I knew when I posted the pictures that would be your response.

I bought the racks from recommendations a few weeks ago and ended up liking them I got more for my other wrenches and I also have the CAT angle wrenches arriving soon that has the ernst included.

They work good for regular wrenches, but the flare nut and the Supercombos don't fit well. They work for you, but I'm building a portable box in addition to my main, and they fall out so easily.

Also, 553-1198 does not show on the CAT website; how much does the deep set generally cost?

I don't think Snap On actually makes any of the "allen key" sets they sell. I could be wrong, but they are rebranded Bondhus.

That said, I personally prefer Wera when it comes to hex and torx keys.
Thanks, that's what I thought as well; either Bondhus or Eklind

I haven’t seen them in person, but judging by the picture, they appear to me Eklind.
Bondhus key holders have parallel rows. Eklind angle opposite ways. And the classic word Metric and Inch on the front.

Actually yes, I think you're both correct and I was mistaken.

I purchased the CAT metric hex key set a few months ago. They were Elkind in Elkind packaging in a CAT branded plastic bag.
Thank you for confirming; chances are I already have this set amongst the other Allen wrenches I've come across :) @AJHD makes a good point that Wera is a fine alternative

Wondering if the cat numbers could be used at a WIlliams industrial supplier? What about vice versa? I know Williams used to have both an import as well as a USA made line, but I don't know that, that is the case anymore (especially with their flare nut wrenches). Also seems like the cat stuff, may have better access to metric then the Williams stuff.
What about the ratchets? The two styles I am aware of are the round head (what I have) and the older Snap on 936 style. I have a few superwrenches, especially in the larger sizes of SAE (picked up as found deals), and then my other Williams stuff is from around the time frame that I understand they sold the Kobalt brand name to Lowe's, and Lowe's cleared them out as the manufacturer. (flare nut wrenches, dual box end, stubbies, think some combo wrenches.

I looked at the Cat ratchets & ended up ordering a Koken.

What is the Catepillar equivalent for the pick pictured on Page 2 of this thread?

They are the same. It's sold with a CAT part#, but is even shown in the catalog as the Snap On.

I've never seen a yellow one or something that says CAT on it.
