Planning on doing my loft extension and what is currently being used are L-brackets into a 2x4 which are bolted into the joist.
If this is safe then I can replicate this no problem.
If this isn't safe and there is an alternative to the L-bracket for a ceiling joist I'd really appreciate some insight.
I had a contractor come out to quote the job but they want over 7 grand to do it and I just can't afford that.
I priced out the materials and I'm looking at about 300 bucks total so I was HOPING the estimate would be more in line with 2 grand or something to that effect, but yeah 7 grand is too steep for me so going to do it myself.
Thanks for any info!
