just a quick cell phone picture but got the LAST husky cabinet assembled and up! Took a while to get all the badging and sticker goo off too but they look clean and I'm loving them.

I also picked out some track lighting and undercabinet lights to get up next. I think these cabinets look best with some light on them so I'm looking forward to more accent lighting.

Coming along nicely. I like the higher stripe, it's better proportioned for a high ceiling room.

Thanks! It is not traditional but I like having the eye drawing further up the wall too.

Hi Chad.
Things are looking really good. Nice collection of Husky cabinets!
Thanks! You certainly know how long it too me to get all them together ha! Not too bad really just kept buying some every weekend.

I have no doubt a garage your size, with your colour scheme, would look amazing in a FreeFlow pattern. The FF won't hold up very well if you plan on using jacks/jackstands often, though. I know you made mention about the poor performance of your previous RD floor in the old place. The FF is not hardy in heavy duty applications. I remove sections of my FF when jacking my rides. PITA, but it is the only way to prevent damage to the floor. Food for thought.

Thanks! Yes I think you are right and I'm pretty much settled on doing the freeflow. Hate to steal the same pattern but seeing your garage, dubbers and others have me hooked on the black/red/gray combo. With my nasty painted slab it sure would be easier.

Have you ever tried just throwing a small sheet of osb/plywood over your RD before jacking? I started doing that on my old floor and it worked pretty well.

Agreed with the RD Floors!

Those Husky's look great in your space. Can't wait to see this one finished.
Yep think I'm going to bite the bullet and do racedeck again but go for the freeflow this time. I really like the idea of a high gloss vct showroom like floor but I know the free flow will look better longer and give me more variety on the floor and be SO much easier to install over a weekend. I love your pattern and think it would look pretty cool against my paint scheme.

Some pics from tonight. I got my RC plane hung from the ceiling. First time I've hung it like this and I really like it. Looks like it's dive bombing in!

I also picked up some more electrical items. Backboxes, wire, occupancy switches, etc to get ready for my track lights and undercab lights coming soon.

Here's the lighting I'm going to use. Will do 2 sets of the track lighting to shine on the cabinets on the left side and down on the table/dirtbike on the right.

I will have the track lights and undercab lights set on occupany switches so they'll kick on when I walk in the garage. Should be pretty cool.

Tried this for one wheel and it worked great.

And its funny my asphalt drive way is full of divots from my jack.

Made some progress today on the track lighting. Got one of the two up at least. I roughed in a new box for the track light fixture and tied into the power at the outlet in the ceiling. Still waiting for the Lutron occupancy switches to come in that I ordered. I did wire it direct to see how it looks and I'm liking it so far. I love accent lighting so once the other set is up should help brighten things.

Got my LED undercabinet lighting partially done. Waiting for the 12v adapter to arrive but I hooked it up to an extra car battery to see how things will look. I'm planning on doing a polished diamond plate backsplash so that should really look good with the light on it.

Chad, she's coming together nicely.

I have been considering this idea. If you've been following the new season of Overhaulin', they have a durable layer of rubber on their SwissTrax free flow style tiles and I've been contemplating that idea as well as the possibility of a sheet of ply. I'm hoping I can find a great piece of really heavy duty rubber matting or something, because pulling up the floor gets old, real fast!

The FF will look killer! It is always the finishing touch on a showpiece space. G/L!

That is a good idea too on a heavy rubber mat. maybe some sort of heavy workout mat or rubber floor tile in 18"x18" might work.

Ok guys now that you've seen my color scheme and how things are coming together give me your thoughts on patter/colors for my floor. I really love Dubber, Rick, NH Mini Driver type of color and pattern on the free flow with the black/red/gray center.

I'm a little concerned about things getting too dark in the garage though since most with that floor combo have white walls instead of the darker gray like mine.

I'm toying with maybe some of the racedeck diamond plate or maybe do the main field color as red? Maybe just do the "alloy" instead of graphite in the field?

Just looked at my checker pattern. I could do the light color squares in diamond plate? My biggest complaint with my last racedeck floor was mostly blamed on the white tiles I had so I wonder if making those diamond plate might still give the shine but not get nasty like white. Can't seem to find many pictures of the diamond plate. Probably costs a fortune so might not work after all!

I like all of those schemes. Of course, I'm partial to the graphite in the center. If you're after something unique, how about doing a combination of alloy and graphite in the field? Alternating 2' x 2' sections might look cool. Just throwing that out there.

Yes that's a good idea Rick. Do you think after doing your color combo that it made the garage "darker" as compared to just regular concrete? It looks like all the alternating angles of the freeflow type tile reflects light around in photos but not sure if that is accurate in person.

Not really, Chad. Until you poised the question, i had never even considered it. Any lack of brightness in my garage is chalked up to the addition of a few dark grey walls. The Alloy is quite a bit brighter than graphite. I accidentally received a few files of Alloy in my initial order and they were a lot brighter.

Thanks that helps to hear. I have looked for hours tonight at all kinds of floors and I'm hooked on your color combo and keep coming back around to it for lots of reasons. Looks like the diamond plate is $9/tile so that is out of the question.

Free flow sure seems to meet the need and look I want yet won't make me crazy seeing every mark/debris on the white solid tiles I used to have.

Getting some samples would probably be a good next step for me.

Requesting samples is one way to go, or you could just take the plunge like I did! Since you're doing a triple, are you open to the idea of making the differentiation between the double and single bays? Or, are you going to do one inner rectangle for the entire space? I think it would look cool to have a double field of graphite and a single field divided by a strip of red.

Definitely order an Alloy sample if your looking for a "brighter" feel. Although all the options you posted will no doubt look great, so its a no lose situation. I do however know what your going through and its sooo easy to over think it. Like i said though you shouldn't be disappointed if you go with any one of the options you posted.

Thanks man! You are right and the best thing is I'll have most of the colors if I want to re-arrange some later.

Great idea! I was originally thinking of doing one large open area in the middle to make it feel larger and more expansive but what you are saying would give me a zippy bit of red in the middle to spice it up. I had only considered one open area or 3 individual bays but didn't consider the 2 bay/1bay option. Here is a quick couple options. Really leaning toward the one on the bottom with extra black.

Got more work done today on my lighting. I got another row of track lighting in. I actually bought and installed a 4 bulb fluorescent fixture and did not like the look of it. Also was tricky with my garage door opener supports in the way. I ended up using the same track lights in the front of the garage. Planning to have these two on the right side and then a double set on the left side for the two bay portion. I used Lutron occupancy switches which is nice that they click on when I'm in the garage.

Bought some black appliance paint. Might tackle that ugly white freezer! Been shopping for a beer fridge to go next to it also.

Had a great day with more progress. Got that old freezer painted black. Turned out pretty good. Mainly got a bunch of **** I don't use often up to my bonus room storage closet. Really helped neaten things up. My 3 boys really helped me this morning so everything went fast and we had fun.

I still have lots of little ideas left, but I think I'm about ready for some racedeck!!

My next little project I've been planning. Found a local metal shop and ordered a sheet of tread plate as a back splash, some for my stair risers and also got a smooth 1/4" thick piece fabbed to use as a work bench top. Looking forward to getting some of this up tomorrow.

Took a disney cruise with the family and Mickey stole all my racedeck money but will hopefully still be ordering pretty soon!

Got my backsplash up today a few tread risers and also threw the full length aluminum top on too. Really like the way it looks and ties the individual base cabinets together nicely. I used 1/8" tread plate on the wall. that 2x10 sheet was a bear to hang alone!

I played around with a little mothers polish on a corner of the countertop. I am looking forward to getting a big buffing wheel and chroming that thing out!

Give me your thoughts guys. I'm really considering buying the "hot rod garage" neon sign to go over the cabinets and move the viper flag. I'm going to have some blue led lights with the fridge and also some over on the right side for other future plans.

Some of my favorite garage makeovers look great with that glow of neon in the night shots.

I think the blue and red would look good there. I also like the red indian signs Any other ideas you've seen or some specific neon sign websites?? thanks!

Yeah, that neon sign will look sweet in your garage. I am going to have to insist you bury the cord in the wall, though. It's a pet peeve of mine, sorry!

I am really digging the backsplash you created, too. Your garage already looks remarkable, so I can't even fathom how amazing it will look with the flooring installed. There is some bad news, though. I'm very close to not liking you anymore.

Awesome Chad. Well done on the backsplash and counter top. They really add a lot to the overall look but still fit well.

Thanks! Absolutely with you on hiding the cord. Already been thinking about that. I hid all the tv cords and added two new outlets just to not have any cords. I'll add an outlet at the top of the wall or hide the cord behind the gyp board either way.

No worries on being jealous my friend - your sweet garage will always be ahead of mine and a great inspiration to us all.

Thanks Dubber! You guys keep throwing any ideas you have to REALLY take my space over the top. I feel like all I think about is what else could I do to really make it awesome. Others have this sickness too I see!
