Read your entire thread and HOLY COW you are living the dream!!! I am such a huge fan of the paint scheme and the storage (and the car!) you have! Some days I wish I had a triple as well!!!

Well here she is! I was actually looking for a Gen IV (08-10) but ended up finding this 2013 down in Baton Rouge. It came with the track package (lightweight wheels and tires, 2 piece rotors, better brakes, black leather and red seatbelts). It is the lightest viper you can get.

It also has the full Modesta coating if you detailers are familiar with it. The paint is flawless with that coating.

Car is a total beast with 640HP/600lb/ft tq. It will break the tires loose if you breathe on the throttle. Makes my camaro seem tame.

I'm getting the windows done with 5% this weekend and already have Eibach lowering springs to install and get it lower. Looks good sitting in the garage and I just sit there on my stool drooling most days...

Ok on to the pics!

EMC2 scores a 911, Chad scores a Viper, I'm about to call it quits....

I look forward to the glamour shots that are inevitably coming! Congrats, man!

You must be all of 5'3" and have a size 8 shoe. Cause no normal sized human can fit in those cars. I test drove one, being 6'2" I was hitting the brake and gas at the same time....with my knee.

Thanks guys - I knew you flip when you saw this. I still can't believe I'm back in a viper after stupidly selling my other one 7 years ago now.

Yes Polexican23 - It is a very tight, racecar like cockpit. No way you would fit. I'm 5-10 with size 11 shoes and I have the seat as low as I can go and still bend my head down to look out the top of the windshield. I actually love squeezing into this beast though. It is all part of the experience to crawl in there and hit the start button on this V10 monster. I've only rolled into the gas a little but it breaks loose so easy it's insane. Very much a street legal racecar that takes some focus to drive.

Congrats on your new pet snake!

What part of town are you in? I'll have to keep my eye out for a red viper.

Thanks! I'm actually in Nashville, TN after moving from Atlanta for a job transfer. I need to update my profile if that is still showing up. Since I moved Atlanta gets more snow than Nashville so the kids are pretty upset about that.

Got my windows tinted with 5%. Man I love the look of blacked out windows. I do this to all my cars and it really looks better and is so comfortable and dark inside. Finally had some good weather yesterday to take a good drive too. Car is brutally fast. I spent a lot of time talking with other car lovers everywhere I stopped - was a lot of fun.

Stop scaring your mom:

PS car looks amazing

Ha that was awesome! I scare myself sometimes in this car though!

I would enjoy detailing the **** out of that car! (Not to mention driving it!)

I bet! I need to get more into detailing and make sure I take good care of the paint. Your blog has been great to learn more about it. Keep posting some good how-to's. I'm most familiar with the zaino products and process. Have you heard of Modesta coating? I figure I would use normal practices but I need to check with an installer or online to make sure that doesn't need any special treatment since that was installed on the car.

Windows look perfect. I always find tinting improves the overall look of a car. We have to watch the darkness out my way as its up to the discretion of the officer, not just a certain %. I used to go near limo tint and i was hassled all of the time.

Beautiful car! I must say I'm sad to hear it is such a tight fit inside.

Was the old one you had about the same?

A Viper has crossed my mind a few times but I haven't had the chance to sit in one yet.

How is the braking on that car - wish it had carbon ceramics?

Brakes are incredible. I have the track pack which includes the brembos and 2 piece slotted rotors. Plenty of power and seem very predictable.

I think if I was tracking the car a lot ceramic would be good but for playing on the street I'm very happy.

Dude I can't wait to see your new garage come together. That is going to be such a huge space. I like how it seems pretty normal from the front but open the doors and boom! You could get all kinds of stuff in there.

Yes it is very similar to my 2006 as far as room inside. I love the tight cockpit feel. You can get seat lowering kits that make it better for taller guys though.

The side sills are very wide so getting in is harder but again it gives a very fun experience to crawl in - unlike any other car. You need to hop in one and you'll be hooked.

Congrats on the new ride!! Those gen 5's are amazing vehicles. Still shares a little dna with my gen 1 but not much given all the upgrades that it has. You should bring it over to Gatlinburg in May when the VOA holds their annual event to drive through the Smoky Mountains.

Enjoy!

Believe it or not my wife spent all weekend helping me with the makeover as my anniversary present. She is still proud that she did a big portion of the racedeck floors and is excited about the next makeover. Her reasoning is "that is the first room people see when they come in our house so why not make it look as good as the rest of the house?" She IS a keeper.

Take those thoughts and remember them forever! A good woman is not an easy thing to find! Great looking garage.

Finally got my garage door insulation done. One of my favorite upgrades! Makes the space brighter and looks so much more finished. Those ugly old metal beat up panels were ugly.

I was planning to do the Matador panels but found the Cellofoam version which is the same from Home Depot for a lot less. Shipped right to the doorstep. I painted the intermediate rails bright white before putting the panels in. Pics for you of course:

Looks great Chad. Its crazy how much of a difference that project can make. Helps with the look, insulation for temperature moderation and also sound dampening. I know it was well worth it in my case.

Hey everyone. Hope all the garage projects are coming along. I've been tinkering on some small items but wanted to share the latest news! Look what I got for fathers day! I just ordered my high lift tracks and springs from DDM garage too. I plan to do the double door first. This is the right step toward getting a 4 post lift - I can't wait.

I also changed out my LED strip lights at my work bench. Went with the 5100k to match all my other garage lights.

Your garage is perfect for a 4 post. Can't wait! Are you putting it in the last bay?

Yes I'm planning to put the first one along the windows. Looking at the Bendpak HD-7W. Super long term is to put 3 of those bad boys in there to store a total of 6 cars. I've done lots of measuring but not ready to buy the lift quite yet.

Things are heating up!

Ha ha oh yes! I'm looking forward to a new stage in the life of my space. Since all the garage door work will be DIY it will keep me occupied (and worn out) dealing with it so that is good.

Very nice space! I love the new viper and the big block Camaro!!

Thank you very much!
