I have a Black and Decker hand drill that plugs into the mains. It only takes a drill up to 10mm but I want to change that to a 13mm chuck.
I have the chuck here but I've just found that the thread for the larger chuck is a wider diameter. I think it's a 1/2 inch. The original on the drill is a 3/8 inch I believe. I know I could search for a chuck with the correct spindle diameter but I want to use what I have.
I could:
1 - find an adapter for the spindle to upsize the thread? (I'm not even sure this is possible)
2- find a 13mm chuck with a 3/8 spindle diameter (don't want to do this)
3 - Try to press a new spindle into the main gear at the front of the drill (see photos).
Some pics below.. Just wondering if any of you have had this issue before and how can I solve it? Thanks
