Changing Socket Sizes

Adam, this drives me nuts with TOPTUL. Most of their wrench sets skip the main sizes GM uses: 15, 18 and 21mm. It's impossible for me to sell their sets here in the United States if they refuse to put the wrench sizes into them that are mandatory to work on American cars. As I've described previously my two friends and I bought a ton (well actually it was 1180Kg) of TOPTUL tools and I bought three of several of TOPTUL's wrench sets which can be purchased individually. The problem is that the missing sizes needed to be bought are only sold 10 to a box when I only needed three to complete the sets. I've got more than we need of 15, 18 and 21mm loose wrenches. I have no idea as to why they do this but I certainly have asked them multiple times. Why don't these manufacturers sell COMPLETE SETS?

This discussion is quite informative. The standards comparison chart a number of posts back helped me understand why VW added the 'BiHex' (or is it triple square or XZN?) as it's an ISO not DIN standard. I am curious why they moved to this shape away from Torx or Allen, perhaps due to patents?

What upsets me is that the SAE sets are always complete. Wasn't the metric system suppose to simplify our lives. Never saw a set from anybody (including TOPTUL) that was missing a 9/16" wrench. 15mm, 18mm - forgetaboutit.

Adam, TOPTUL calls the first Snap-On socket that you have pictured a "RIBE" bit. According to them these are not Torx in any fashion. You can check them out here:
