I have a big set of old Craftsman red/blue/clear handles and nicer Mac, Matco, Wiha, Craftsman Pro. sets.
The Old Cman's get used for dirty stuff, and the others for clean. I find I rarely spend much time turning screws with screwdrivers, they get used a lot more for "other" stuff.
Impact driver does all the real work. The old Cman's fit the "other" category well. Lots of sizes. That's what you don't usually get with other cheap sets.
"Other" doesn't alway mean abuse... Pry, align, poke holes, remove oil filters, pull seals... All things that we should have other tools to do. Sometimes that tool doesn't work for that application or you just don't have it.
screwdrivers and vice-grips can fill in for lots of stuff.
