I watch videos of people doing mechanical stuff in a variety of countries, and Locktite seems to be universal worldwide.I wonder what the world outside of North America uses for threadlocker?![]()
https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-1329...adlockers/dp/B009I2UC3Q/?tag=atomicindus08-20This is the best I’m seeing. For 50 ml
This one says 50 ml all over the bottle and the add. What am I missing?
It was said that you get a larger sized bottle that is only half filled. Which may be true but you’re getting 50ml as stated on the packaging. The size of the container is irrelevant.This one says 50 ml all over the bottle and the add. What am I missing?
When I worked in Germany for a few years decades ago we used thread locker sourced from German suppliers. I still have some in the shop, and use it interchangeably with Loctite. I would have to look at the brand, as I forgot it, but it comes in a blue bottle, with many variations. I think, but am not sure, that there are DIN standards thehreadlocker has to meet.I wonder what the world outside of North America uses for threadlocker?![]()
So you are getting just what is advertised, 50 ml. What is the point?It was said that you get a larger sized bottle that is only half filled. Which may be true but you’re getting 50ml as stated on the packaging. The size of the container is irrelevant.
Another poster said “I will say you get a larger size bottle that's only half filled.” which I quoted and responded to.So you are getting just what is advertised, 50 ml. What is the point?
Well that is weird, the price is back up to $14 since I first posted!
This is not where I would be looking to save 50 cents, probably one of the cheapest things in the shop. Cut out one coffee purchase & there's your locktite.
How about cut out one day of avocado toast?Whoa....let's calm down....
Deal....as long as the coffee is safe.How about cut out one day of avocado toast?
cut out one coffee purchase and buy a package of cheese.....This is not where I would be looking to save 50 cents, probably one of the cheapest things in the shop. Cut out one coffee purchase & there's your locktite.
The coffee is a little extreme, maybe a bagel,lol.Whoa....let's calm down....
Must be location based. I keep getting $14
Well, you quoted me, so that explains the confusion.Another poster said “I will say you get a larger size bottle that's only half filled.” which I quoted and responded to.
When I first looked it was under $9. When I look now it is over $14. All the traffic from here just drove the price up!Must be location based. I keep getting $14
True enough. I never look at the price and just buy some. For me, a week end warrior, a bottle lasts a long time. Even when I had my shop one bottle would last a month. I spent a lot more money on shop towels and brake clean.This is not where I would be looking to save 50 cents, probably one of the cheapest things in the shop. I've been using the ESKONKE for almost a year now. No issues but I don't use it a lot either. I will say you get a larger size bottle that's only half filled.
Replying to my own post....I was referring to the ESKONKE brand that TTC rated pretty high. I noticed that the bottles I received (medium and high strength) were, to my eyes, only half filled. I found out from the Amazon page the reason why;
"The product requires air exposure to cure. Note that the bottle contains only 4/9 liquid volume to prevent premature curing."
