Good morning guys

I'm in the market for Milwaukee's 2763-22 high torque impact wrench/kit, and thought I'd see if you guys know of any cheaper places to get it. I checked the CPOMilwaukee site and found this for a brand new one:

$429

http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/milwauk...es/miln2763-22,default,pd.html?start=2&q=2763

then this for a "CPO" / refurb one:

$345

http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/factory...lithium-batteries/milr2763-82,default,pd.html

Every Milwaukee tool I've purchased in the past has been a refurb, but due to the sheer cost of this one, I am thinking the extra warranty (5 years vs. 1 year) may be worth the extra $80 to me. I've only purchased < $100 M12 tools so far.. this will be my first M18 one

Any other sites I can get this cheaper or any coupons that I can use to bring the price down? I'll pay $429 if I have to, just thought there might be a cheaper way. There seem to be some bargain hunters around here for sure :)

Any recommendations on going with the lower cost one with less warranty or the brand new one?

I'm also looking at a rubber boot for it, 49-16-2763

$35

http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/milwauk...-20--2764---20/miln49-16-2763,default,pd.html

Thanks for any help/advice!

Toolbarn offers $10 off for first time customers.
You may want to consider bare tool, it's $219 and it works really well with the lighter battery, it may be worth the trouble to piece together what you need.

I may have to look into that (piecing it together). Originally I was thinking if I bought the whole "kit" this time I would end up with two of their largest batteries that I could then use when buying bare tools in the future.. but I'll just have to see how it all adds up

I do already have a charger that will work with the M18 batteries, so it is def. something to consider. I just have to make sure I can get the case too. I hate not having cases for tools like this

Thanks for the suggestions

edit: So, it'd basically be $25 for the case (eBay), $219 for the tool and $99 for a 3Ah battery, so that's basically $350 total but would only leave me with one battery. Refurb "bare" tool would knock $50 off

I have one large battery and several smaller ones, the M18 tools are a lot nicer for occasional use with the 2.0.

Someone actually wants the case for these? Mine's about to go in the trash.

Anyway wait for a promo of some sort, I got my kit for $369 shipped and that included an extra (3rd) 4.0 battery. It was a CPO % off sale plus free battery w purchase of a kit.

Try Zoro

http://www.zoro.com/i/G7474327/

Today only 25% off code TEDDY

Looks like $354 if my math is right but YMMV

You can get some good deals from Zoro with the 25% off codes but some of the stuff starts off high and you do have to pay tax but I have gotten some good deals in the past.

Luckily I get this stuff at cost. Although margins are non existent on the power tools so my price isn't a ton cheaper.

Just keep in mind when looking for "deals"....

Milwaukee's 5 year tool warranty & 3 year battery warranty is from the date of purchase (from an AUTHORIZED distributor) OR the date of manufacturer.

If you buy some discount model from Joe's Tools, LLC & it is a year old already (even though it is "new") & Joe's isnt an "Authorized Retailer", then you just lost a year of your warranty period on each item.

Here is the list of retail & online Authorized Retailers --- http://www.milwaukeetool.com/buy-now

I'd love to find something for that price, but do want to order soon. Is this sort of promo common or a couple times a year type of thing? At some point I'd rather just pay the extra and know I have a 5 year warranty and not have to wait, unless these promos come around fairly often

Yes, I like having the cases. I am garageless at the moment, so it's a lot easier to transport everything in cases (for me anyways).

I'll take a look at that, thanks

This deal looks like it's only good for sets but $100 off trade in. http://www.colsafety.com

I'll check that one out too, thanks

Wellll sell me one cheap anyways :)

Good to know. I'm honestly thinking about just buying the "new" one from CPOmilwaukee.com and being done with it unless I find a much better deal in the next week or so. I'm impatient

Are they an authorized dealer? I don't see them on the Milwaukee list

Best advise would be to wait if you can. Black Friday is just around the corner and they usually offer specials like a free battery, free bare tool, or 10-20% off. I picked up my 2763 at Home Depot earlier this month on a special at Home Depot where you buy 2 bare tools and they gave you a battery and charger for free. I believe that deal ended on the 15th though.

Zoro is 25% off right now.. and no shipping charges, although they do charge taxes and their "original" price is a little high ($472). It comes out to about $380 shipped/taxed for the tool, 2 x 4Ah batteries, case & charger

I think that's the best price I've found so far, but their estimator showed no taxes, so that kind of irks me now that it was added in on the last page of the ordering process. Without taxes it was down to $350'ish, which I was going to go ahead and order.

If I don't find anything better than that today I'll probably go ahead

I'm sure I can find a few more M12/M18 tools I need on black Friday :)

Zoro doesn't show up on Milwaukee's authorized online retailer list, unless they are a B&M shop as there aren't any Zoro's in the NJ area. So if warranty is your concern as the OP stated, I would think twice before buying.

I just realized that about zoro too.. so I'm probably going to pass on them just based on that. If it were a $50 tool I wouldn't care, but at close to $400, it better have a full 5 year warranty

Guess I'll keep my eyes open for some deals over the next week or so and see if I can find something better than the normal $420 CPOmilwaukee price

First world problems here people

I like it so far and haven't found anything that it won't remove/loosen. It's turning out to be a major addiction though as I've found the Milwaukee tools to be so well made and love their performance. I started out with just their M12 Fuel 3/8" and M18 Fuel compact 3/8" impact wrenches and now I've got a good collection going. I'm just happy that I didn't have an existing large cordless collection of tools that I would have had to sell off first.

It looks like it'll either remove it or break it..lol

My story is similar. I picked up an M12 cordless ratchet a while back as I didn't want to pay the price snap on wanted for theirs, and have loved it. I've put way, way more force on it than it's rated for and so far it's still holding up fine. Also got a little m12 1/4 impact driver and have been quite impressed with it too

I just sold my snap on ct4410a and 4850.. they didn't have the oomph that they should have had (or perhaps ONCE had) and I've been so happy with the M12 line I decided I'd give the M18 impact a shot. I had something the other day I was working on where that little m12 impact driver did just as good as the snap on 3/8 impact, so that pretty much sealed their fate

I didn't have a collection beforehand either, so I guess I'm stuck with Milwaukee for a while now

so you are saying that the largest online seller of Milwaukee on planet Earth (amazon) is not authorized? - this seems pretty ridiculous that Milwaukee's 2nd largest customer in the world after Home Depot is not authorized! - If I were amazon, my economic power would let that situation remain in effect for about 1 day!

Amazon is not as great as many people think they are. If you read up on their actual business practices you'll see that a lot of manufacturers refuse to sell on Amazon or authorize their products for sale on Amazon. What you end up with are gray market products with no manufacturer's warranty. Amazon will analyze product sales statistics and in some cases put their own selling partners out of business.

Regardless, their price isn't the best on this particular tool..

I buy entirely too much from Amazon and have always had good luck with their return and especially their replacement policy when I've received stuff with issues.

Any other suggestions on when/where/how to get this tool for the lowest price possible would be appreciated..

ttt!

What's the latest and greatest way to get a lower than retail price? They don't have any returbs in stock right now, so that option is out for the moment as well

I finally got fed up with looking and just bought the whole thing in pieces from a combination of several stores. Ended up somewhere in the mid 300's for the impact, two 4 Ah batteries, charger, case and rubber boot. Worked out to about the same price as the refurb kit (which was out of stock at the moment) with a boot added

Patience would have gotten me a better price I imagine (or more batteries), but at this point I was tired of looking and just pieced it together the cheapest way I could come up with

Will post pictures once it all arrives!

Update on this thing: blows my old snap on out of the water. To be fair, the snap on one was pretty old and had been used for a lot of years. I am super impressed but wish I had bought at least one smaller battery. It was heavier than I thought under a car with extensions and sockets on the end in weird angles. Did a great job though.

I took the transmission/rear cradle/torque tube out of a newer corvette today and I was more worried about this thing snapping bolts or something than I was about whether it had enough power. It didn't hesitate on a single thing, although there wasn't anything stupid tight to be fair

I am happy with it so far. I really need to get a smaller 3/8 one to go along with it

anyone know if there are better deals than buying CPO milwaukee tools from the cpo milwaukee site?

i want that fuel drill/impact set with xc batteries, its 299 instead of 399.. which is a hell of a deal. but theres the idea that the set could be a year old already, etc etc. is there anywhere else you can pick them up for 25% off and free shipping?

I saw a free battery/tool deal on the 2763's earlier today if you're interested

thanks i was lookin there earlier.

lots of tempting deals right now, i may wait to see what gets thrown out on black friday and cyber monday before deciding though.

so far CPO offers the 2797-22 kit with a 169 add-on (grinder to be more specific)

home depot is doing 2797-22 kit with a 150 credit on other tools... if you do it online you can get almost any other tools, and just pay a little extra on top for one like the high torque impact or fuel circular saw.

I like TOOLUP. Basically I think Milwaukee sort of sets the price and all of the online dealers normally charge the same for it. I like toolup as they are close to me (Las Vegas) and it only takes a day for FEDEX ground to get my package from there to Phoenix. Since this tool cost more than $199 shipping is free.

ZORO TOOLS IS PART OF GRAINGER. Nobody is going to give you any grief if you get stuff from GRAINGER

I have this impact and it's truly scary. Not as powerful as my Nitrocat 1200K and 1250K but few things are. For a cordless it's truly amazing. Only ***** I have is the weight. I also have the previous non-fuel version of the Milwaukee cordless 1/2" impact and it's not quite as powerful, although still plenty potent, and it's smaller and lighter. I actually use that more often.

If you work in a tire store and you're using this all day it's going to kill you. If you're trying to tear apart a D-9 this will likely do it.

I bought my impact as a bare tool with a 4.0XP battery when CPO had their Veterans Day Sale. Anyone know where I can get a cheap case for the 2763? There are a few on Ebay for $25, but it seems like the seller knows the deal for many of the other cases are sub $10.

Not sure why I'm baulking at spending $25 to protect a $300 tool, but I am. I guess its my cheapskate side coming out.

I would recommend the rubber boot for it as well

I'd get the drill/driver combo and bare 2763 from Home Depot. That way you get three useful tools and 2 4ah batteries for little more than the cost of the 2763 kit with home depot's current promotion.

Agreed, that is what I am planning to do. It runs for a while so waiting to see what happens on black friday first

Im still a little worried in the back of my head that they will "fix the glitch" and force you to buy something $150 or higher in addition to the eligible kits before it will take the $150 off.
