I'm working on a toolbox for my garage, (to store extra stuff) Still waiting on a few handles to come in. Not to bad for my first toolbox?

Very cool and unique!!! Looks more like fine furniture than a tool box. Great project, hopefully I'll develop the stick-to-it-ness someday to tackle big projects.

Very nice job. I like the tilted top for a writing surface! But we need to find you a better mechanism to keep it open than a screwdriver.:)

Thats too funny. I knew something wasn't quite right with the whole lid thing, I'll work on that.

Nice looking box Rick. I might not be able to do fine finish work with wood but I can appreciate a craftsman that can.

By the way, welcome to the board...:)

Very nice.
The only trouble with wood is we have a tendency to over load the drawers with heavy steel tools.
Built right and used sensibility, you have something your grandchildren can fight over.

A bit of a myth there, really. A properly engineered wood drawer will handle any load except maybe a full load of lead blocks.

The OP's design looks to be a perfect example of a wooden box designed to hold tools. It's narrow, not too deep and sports rugged slides. I'm sure the tolerances are tight.

It won't dent rust or rack. Scratches will add to the patina.

Bet you can't tell I'm a huge fan of wooden boxes!
