This is the first deep discounts like this I've seen on a lot of stuff.

Now I wish I lived in a big town with five stores.

looking for the angle grinder but it shows up at $42.49 at stores near me. Not worth it to me at that price.

maybe the got the % off backwards at some stores. prybars are 25% off at mine instead of 75%.

I tried to get the angle grinder from my local ad but at the final page in checkout the price jumps up to $42. :( Not sure if I should get it and ask for money back in the store or not?

don't forget the punch and chisel holder... my local ad shows $5.64, but once I added it to cart, it knocked another $1 off!

I forgot the important caviot to now be upset when you get orders canceled since their inventory tracking is terrible... think of it like a lottery for good tool deals.

How are y'all getting these deals? Most items you mentioned, when I added them to my cart, were way higher in price than you are mentioning.

You have to click the "Local Ad" tab on the homepage. That will take you to another page where you select which store, and then from the drop down menu select "Tools". These deals do not show up if you go to the individual product pages, even if you select the store for pick up.

my local store is doing mad clearance too... the guy there said they've been shuffling things around for the past 2 weeks... I wonder what's going on....

When I was in Sears a few weeks back, there were several bare sections of shelf space, most of the open stock wrenches were cleared out or on clearance, and a lot of other random stuff including assorted screwdrivers was gone. Then I went in last week and it looks like they've streamlined what they are carrying. Didn't see any open stock wrenches or sockets and was disappointed, I thought "how are they going to do warranty swaps now?" Finally found the sockets, wrenches, and screwdrivers together on an aisle at the outskirts of the tool dept, new displays, seemingly no reduction in the amount of sockets available but the wrench singles selection has shrunk drastically and all the Cman Pro drivers are gone. The aisle where the sockets and accessories used to be right near the middle of the dept is now full of socket sets and wrench sets, the new Mach series and the MaxAxess series are prominently displayed. Screwdrivers also seem to be mainly offered in sets now too, only standard acetate handles on the shelves now.

Either Sears is looking at the numbers and seeing that only the cheap stuff is selling, or they're trying to compete with Husky and Kobalt to drive more business. Or maybe they're downsizing the tool dept to make room for more profitable merchandise, though I don't know what. As far as I can tell, only old people shop at Sears for TVs and appliances. Heck, I even saw a sign in Best Buy recently that was specifically targeting Kenmore customers to replace their appliances, I don't remember the exact wording, but the implication was that the brand wasn't going to last and parts/service wouldn't be available. Pretty bold, but even Best Buy sees the writing on the wall.

Thanks. Had to switch some stores, but just got 4 36" bar clamps and a set of 10 carpenters pencils for just over $20 ($30 - $10 surprise points on purchases over $30).

Would have ordered a few other things from another store but not enough to make it worth my trip.

Forgot to mention, they had the corded bolt-on drill for $25. Hard to beat that.

Yeah my Tucson store is remodeling too. Looks like they are trying to clear out all the old USA stuff to make way for new Chinese open stock

from what I heard, the tap and die set aren't so good any more, unless you find USA old stock

yup, and different stores have slightly different ads if you just did a search within your local area (aka reasonable driving distance)... so YMMV on what deals you find compared to what we have already posted here... take your time to search around for some really awesome deals

good luck! :rocker:

Sears is killing me! When you put items into your cart they drop the price even more. That tap and die went from $70 to $59!

Went ahead and bit the bullet and got both sets of the Chinese flare nut wrench sets. For $11.00 a set with a 5 off 20 coupon. They're Chinese tools, but I paid Chinese tool prices so that makes it hurt a little less. Also got the 3/8 drive 4 pc wobble extension set, 3 pc universal swivels set and the last USA made bottle opener. Total normal retail is $130. Paid just under $40 including tax. I think I cleared out my local store on the bottle openers. I've bought about 8 of them in the last week. But everyone in my office has fancy bottle openers for their beers now.

Thanks for the tip, got the 3 piece set of the craftsman pro pry bars for $21.

Damn it. Back to Sears online to find a store close by to get a set of these. These great deals are sometimes not great deals when you have a tool addiction. Time to try to feed the urge again.

You might want to check for the professional vise #51888. I picked up one at my store for $74.88 off the local ad. Also got a 10" pipe wrench (USA), staple gun (USA), 16" professional screwdriver (USA), and two tool bag sets. All for around $125 + tax. Add in coupons and points back and I'm at about $100 for everything. Thanks for the heads up Subby!

Tell me about it, just got the normal pry bars for $8 after surprise $10 points. Odd thing about the pro pry bars is that they are not even in stock at my store and are supposed to arrive in 7-9 days. Zip code is 27514 if that helps for potential price matching.

Thanks for this thread. Got two Picquic drivers for less than the price one usually is. Not sure if they're clearance or something, I never even saw Sears carried them before.

Does anyone know if their coping saw is supposed to come with a blade? They have 1 on the shelf, the shelf doesn't show the sale price, Sears is notorious for not price matching the web, and the web shows none in stock. So you know how that's going to go. But it does say USA and I kind of don't need it but want it.

When I went to pick up my local overstock stuff I noticed my store offered to knock off a additional 50% on all clearance. I stocked up! Also got $40 in points back! After all was said and done I got everything you see in the picture for $120. That is a average of $3.63 per item you see in the picture.

Nice!

Our Sears is doing a big reset and hopefully they will follow suit. The clearance section here is usually more expensive than buying it new (how that works I have no idea) but with a deal like that it might be worth it.
