Been using this cheap metal shelf for years to put my chemicals in the shop. I’m tired of looking at this mess. What are you guys doing for chemical in your garage?

something very similar :lol_hitti

Mine is way classier. I have a milk crate and a cardboard box I use for non-combustible on the same industrial shelves. I do have a repurposed metal cabinet for my paint stuff.

I’d love to see some good options for this. My challenge, NO WALL SPACE

Personally use the same except sorted by small trays / boxes.
If you want to hide them a cabinet would obviously be better. Could even get a fire / chemical storage style one, though they tend to be pretty pricey new.

My garage isn't that big, so a cabinet outside has all of that. It used to sit on a shelf inside and it was oily and dirty. The cabinet is a steel 2 door office cabinet with adjustable shelves.

I have no problem with having flammable product containers in my garage or even near my welding are. A few products do stay inside, including acetone for cleaning before tig welding aluminum. Isopropyl alcohol, brake cleaner, tapping fluid, penetrating spray, etc are all out in the open. As long as they don't leak, all is fine. There isn't much flammable material in my garage.

Paint in quarts and gallons and gasoline are in a 6 foot tall metal cabinet in the detached storage building With an extinguisher near it. Garden and yard chemicals are on a shelf in the building. Oils and greases are in a metal shop cabinet for easy access. Extinguisher near. Spray can containers are on a 4” deep shelf in the power tool room for easy access and label reads. Same extinguisher near. Spray Dychem and tapping fluids are in the machine shop area for point of use. The lid of the parts washer stays closed unless in actual use and has a flammable sign posted. Waste oil is in a marked container underneath the parts washer. The farther away from each other these groups of chemicals live the better. The oil cabinet and parts washer are to the right in this picture.IMG_1700.jpeg
