The radio in mine is just a 'dummy' built out of repro parts for a stock radio. I'm planning on using an iphone as a head unit

Progress on mine is down to a few hours a week. I need to get it on the road this spring and work out the bugs before it goes to the upholstery shop
IMG_20200201_175813072.jpgMine's an aluminum LS 5.3 with a T5 - I'd like to upgrade to a TKX if I can sell the T5 to one of the straight six guys

Impressed with the work on your truck. Like to see the original door handles, two tone paint and the detail of your installation.

Curious how you dealt with your running boards. Appears a bed liner type material was used on the tread surface and the rest is painted the body color. When the valance is installed will post a few pictures.

After I'd painted the truck, I took the running boards to a truck bed-liner shop and had them spray the running boards.

On the GMC Advance Design trucks, the running boards are always black no matter what the body color was, so it was kind of a nod to the originals.

They used some masking tape with a wire in it to get a nice crisp line on the bed liner

Most people don't realize that about the GMC's...splash apron up front is also supposed to be black. Mine still have what's left of the original factory paint :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, Looks great!

When you get the valance for the under-dash AC vents installed, a photo would be very much appreciated. Did you make it or is it available somewhere?

I put my center AC vents through the old speaker grill, but this being AZ, I'm going to need some more vents at knee level.

Please keep posting your progress!
I think you mean ball level. Like the 70’s gm trucks!

Photos of a scale model of a 32 Ford fabricated while attending a Lazze metal working class. Did the 4 basic options for metal working, cuttings, stretching, shrinking and bending to obtain the finished shape. Layout marks remained on the sheet and were clear coated to protect.20220221_161534.jpg20220221_161549.jpg20220221_161604.jpg

Is that metal fab class you attended in the area?

Jay
No, class is in CA. Lazze has a website and has videos on you tube. He is really an artist and provided a lot of information in the initial 3 day class on the use of the English Wheel, stretcher/shrinker dies and different dies in a bead roller. Well worth the time/money.

Windshield wipers, cowl electric vent, air conditioner and radio installed to allow routing of duct, drains and wiring. One step at a time.

Missing the wiring harness for the impulse generator so contacted 3 local auto parts stores. No one could find anything as they wanted the car in was going into. Went on-line and found one in less than 10 minutes, sure miss the old time parts counter help, but would rather use a local store if possible.

That's a very nice A/C hide! Both the controls and the duct work.
Thks, Hope that it will look original once the glove box door and speaker grill are install. The Ash Tray and Speaker grill are one unit with ash try hole modified to hold a cell phone which will be able to attach to a usb port without any visible cables.

Vintage Air, Believe they have a unit that would work but looks like a plastic add on. Wanted something that would blend in with stock dash.

100% agree with this sentiment. Both Vintage Air and Southern Air have tried to sell me theirs...doesn't fit my build or my wants.

Mine is the other way though, 60s speed shop era "add on". So mine will be an under dash unit.

I would think you could use a "L-off-R" switch kind of like controlling side mirrors and then have a set of wires run to the passenger side if it doesn't come with something.

Interior coming together. Seat covered in cloth which I prefer over leather, recall farm trucks with leather as it was cheap, cold and hot at the wrong times, plus the cloth holds up longer. Door panels installed temporally as the window and switches need to be installed.20220801_154925 (1).jpg .

Picked up the truck from the upholstery shop then installed the hood center strip. Considered painting it blue or buying a SS repo but think I like the Old English White. Probably the end of progress until mid Oct but looking forward to having the final assy completed. Actually trying to find the best heater hose clamp as have a leak with the current hose clamp. Any suggestions?
