I just purchased this hammer today. The makers mark is faint. All I can make out is Chicago. I'm interested in Knowing the manufacturer e this hammer. I have never seen one before.
Thanks for any help you can come up with.

Nice hammer, cool logo.

The title to your thread is not descriptive enough, I suggest you edit it to change it to asking about a logo.

This logo thread is not in any specific order, but it is jammed full of information:

There is a hammer thread too. Post there, the guys there may have an example of that hammer and be able to identify it:

I do not recognize the logo. It is not Chicago Manufacturing & Distributing.
I cannot find an example of a logo for Chicago Manufacturing Co. (see https://www.madeinchicagomuseum.com/single-post/chicago-hardware-foundry-co/ ) or the Chicago Hardware Foundry Co. (but that one seems unlikely as it looks as though they were more into casting than forging.)
I'm wondering if maybe a stick of chalk rubbed on the surface might bring out more detail.
