Thanks Puget,
I kind of like the laps myself and to my eye the contrast of the fasteners makes it stand out.

This is my favorite part of it.
This tubing came from coal fired boiler and the pic shows some buckshot from a repair, I would guess.
I can picture some poor boilermaker, probably standing on his ear, trying to make a patch, cussing up a storm, wishing he would have stayed in school!
Anyhow, I could not bring myself to grind them off.

Made a race car for our youngest grandson today.
The body is a couple air motors, the rear suspension link arms are roller chain links,
the rubber wheels are from some old casters,
the nose, tail and engine are tube cleaning tools,
the steering wheel is a shock washer,
The driver is a spark plug labeled by Lincoln, I found on the beach of a lake when I was a boy, 50 or so years ago!

He is over the moon about cars and will dig this contraption.

Thanks Puget,
These projects have been a welcome reprieve from the isolation of the virus.
It puts my mind in a good place.

Very Impressive! Makes me want to get on the floor and go "vroom vroom", even at 69!

The American Pickers would lose their minds picking your place Royce. Super authentic Americana craftsmanship at its best.

Thanks Jim,
Something was not right with the engine, so swapped out motors today.
With the new and improved bigger engine, I had to put a new steering box, column and wheel on.
I think it looks a bit better now.

Thanks Jim,

Here the last item for 2020, a soup can and dry line telephone.
While not too involved, it is my favorite, for the wee ones.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

That one should come with the "Pre Historic Cell Phone" badge, Samsung 1BC moniker! I remember lots of those around when I was a child. Should also make for a good conversation with the little ones. Royce I would like to suggest that you could print off a custom label for the cans for a little custom touch, colours that they, like their name, etc. Way to Go on these projects Royce should be lots of smiles Christmas morning! Thank Harry,
The phone really takes a man back to childhood, doesn't it.
Smiles and memories is what it is all about.
Merry Christmas
