In front of the eldest house -a 17th century gentlemen countryhouse waiting better times- the historical Citroen "double chevon" seems not out of place..

In the cobbles I found this alluminium medal certifing the payment of a municipal dog-tax for the year 1940:

i Have to say your passion and perceverence for "old world" building is an inspiration. I recently built a shed completly from reclaimed oak and maple lumber doing it all in timberframe and there isn't a better feeling.( other than parent hood) ;)

keep up the good work.

Luca,

Great to hear from you,

Your place is looking good. It is nice to see you taking advantage of all the family help, watch the kid, he looks like a trouble maker!

I know a guy in Denver a Mercedes / Porsche guy, who got a 2cv last year. He has had more fun in that car than his 911 so he says.

Luca,

Thanks for updating us on your progress. That driveway is a labor of love. It looks beautiful. I don't think I would have been able to stick with it like you two have. Make that three! He is really growing.

Dear Luca,

just stumbled over your amazing thread.
So much work you and your wife put into that place. Most of the ignorants (maybe including me!?!) would have just flattened the place, to build something soulless.
''Chapeau'' for your decision to preserve that beautiful spot and to put 'new life' in instead.
Great atelier.
Great work - Subscribed!!!

Kind regards
oeyniman

Good to see you here again. Truly inspiring as always. Do you have a clue on how many hours you've spent on the cobbled stone pavement?

I spent about ten days on my wooden shingles roof this summer and it almost drove me crazy, when a colleague in historic preservation comforted me with kind words on the importance of getting a hands on experience of pre-industrial construction works.:)

I really, really admire all the work you put into your place, especially all the stone paths/streets/driveways/etc.

Great work!!!

Looking great, we have some cobbling to do at our house in France in the not too distant future, I may well have to make a rammer like your big wood block with a handle! I was lucky enought to visit Italy for the first time at the end of July with a weekend in Firenze, an incentive won by my wife from her employer. We stayed in a lovely hotel in the Tuscan countryside, a former monastery, its really is a beatiful country, the city itself is stunning.

Ciao Luca! Last year I drove by your garage, but I didn't know this thread then. I just found it on Google Maps and I remember I saw some Citroëns there when I drove over the railroad. Next time I'll knock on your door. :)

We went from St. Maxime to Torino and from there to Chamonix, following small roads most of the time. In one day with our Saab 900 Classic.

I love your garage and the Citroën. I like driving 2cv's, it's allways great fun. I still think it's one of the best designed and engineered cars ever. Onfortunally over here in the Netherlands every 2cv is rusty. After my classic Mini will be sold, there could be a chance we will buy a 2cv one day. We'll be expecting our baby in February, so a 2cv will be more practical and comfortable than the Mini.

Keep up the great work, and keep us posted on the cars, garage, your family and La Dolce Vita. Ciao!

Love that Dennis! 2CV as the more spacious alternative...makes me think of when I had 2CV as a daily driver and we were about to make a 300 km trip, four adults and and 1 year old child. I thought it would be a little bit TOO tight with space but the others mocked me quite a while when I showed up in a borrowed Peugeot 104 as a 'bigger' alternative. The 2CV sure is a fantastic car, the closest you can come a motorcycle in pure fun of driving. Had one for about five years, most of them as a daily driver and have had or driven most classic Citroens, DS, GS, AMI8, CX, and in the later years the not so inspiring BX and Xantia.

Thank's everybody, I'm glad to meet you again. I've a lot of images and stories of my little works in citrogarage during last 2 years, I hope to have soon enough time to post them.

Special greetings to Dennis, You MUST stop at Citrogarage next time! Excellent idea to look for a 2cv for your enlarging family, we had a 2 weeks holiday and probably too many things (specially camping-things) but it's not bad-organization for a little child:

I have an old friend deuchiste in Netherlands (a country reallyloving citroen cars), his battle name is Captain Krimson, Maybe he could help you to find there a not-too-rusty 2cv..

A plus!

Great to see the new posts, Luca. I can't wait to see your updates for the last couple of years. Your garage/compound is one of my favorites. So much charm and character, and so much history. It's beautiful.

Hallo garage friends, one of peculiar stories of Citrogarage is the making-of the warming system of the house in november 2010.

To tell the truth, this experience had a prequel in 2008 when we decide to restore an ancient stove coming from an old historical restaurant of my hometown Here the 2008 stove restauration!

On the left corner you can see the old stove, oper-stocked during works at the roof of Citrogarage:

Rise up old stove!! Ouff anf pant.. Ok you're up now. Here de-construction and pannel-repair:

Very nice job. I wish I was your neighbor, I would like to see your cobblestone road work. In my town we still have old brick streets, I like the sound they make when you drive over them.
You have any new autos added to your collection?

Just found this today! This isn't a thread, this is a journal, a novel! Fantastic job in every way, from your ingenious and sensitive restoration/recreation to the wonderfully evocative way you have reported it here. Thanks for sharing, this has to be one of the best threads I have read on any forum I belong to (a bunch). Obligatory Italian content: owned 2 Alfa's: a GTV6 (quite the bomb) and a very rare 1965 2600 Spider (long ago, wish I still had it). And French? Peugeot fan, (owned 4 including a 604 rare in the States) but always have thought Citroens are very cool.

Of all the things you have done, the cobblestone work impresses me the most, so my highest compliments to your partner! And I'm sure your son is going to grow up with some great skills, thanks to all this.
