Meanwhile, in the portion already operating the garage, I do not even have the time to focus on the troubles of the rear plate holder of Roxie's 2cv Amelie ..

... that I have to send her back look at my 2cv making sounds very disturbing: a continuous pulse that has manifested itself for the first time in a violent way and then suddenly disappear and then reappear in a less acute but certainly serious..

One of the segments had gone into pieces, the pieces where digging a hole in the side of the piston and the combustion chamber and by dint of pistonat-fists get thrown down the one and the other:

The heads had already given both the spark plug seats and decided to implant rods, pistons and heads of another engine that I remember quite combative but had undergone abnormal wear in the eye of the connecting rod right beating strong and therefore l ' I had replaced. The pin seemed rather perfect and I used it along with the piston.

My friend Cora has overseen the operation-with a dubious blessing .. - and proceeded to tightening and final adjustments, the machine is reassembled and almost .. Cross your fingers and trust in a benevolent look from above ..

I finally completed the replacement of the engine, which was pretty aggressive in the climbs but a slight ringing suggests that the piston on the right will catch up soon with his predecessor at the shrine of the mechanical sacrifices..

To kill time I remedied the ringing increasing the rumble ..

Citrogarage perpetual re-organization continues upstairs: without a minimum of respect also the boundless spaces saturate badly, that's what had happened to citrobarn and forced me to put hand on it. The reorganization is spreading even to the loft which houses mostly bicycles and motorcycles as well as an overload of tires ..

But already benefits from a metal drawer that I've recently added a shelf and a series of metal cabinets recovery ..

And now a special cabinet to keep clean the camping equipment!

While the lighting will be partially guaranteed by this half-Seventies Shell panel that I dragged myself to the garage in the garage for over twenty years, which is preparing for an installation that I hope ultimately..

The only update for the Universal Bench elevator is confined to a new poll on the choice of paint to repaint the new bridge. The previous producer does not seem willing to provide it (it has suspended production, it seems no longer required as in the past) and the paint shop gave me a new chip that seems to come directly from the sixties ..

Honestly, I know that all the funds for production of the Company and Allied Lombarda Colors are now finished at the bottom of some illegal dump but it's worth groped. Furthermore, the fact that both nitro and nail polish is not interesting, as the instructions to get the perfect effect "curdled milk". The blue is eye-catching but it would reserve the undulations of some hy or small van, the bridge needs above all to be "optically shrunk" and it seems to me that one of the gray-green could be for it..

The lift has reached in these days full functional restauration and is entering into operation at experimental level. I finally chose 0417 green for hardware repainting, judging it quite similar to some other metallic painted tools in the garage.

Great was my second surprise (the first one was the price) when I realized that the d'antan folder-color was little more than a vague reference for the tones actually produced, as well as color-codes completely different: the producer seems to brutally simplify the choice in a range of gray / green / blue.

Anyway I finished surface preparation and I have learned the cycle required to obtain the "hammered" effect:

The lift is in his place, the hammered-painting is quite successful but.. Unfortunately for my taste that green is really too green. I mean it would be charming on a modern tool just came out of the factory but after two days I just can say I don't like it.: This bright color is too impressive and is ruining the whole effect "greasy old workshop" that I had carefully constructed by cumulating a lot of trash and debris all around it. Finally, receiving the yellow platforms -which I thought to keep- the"john deer effect" is tragically complete:

Making me courage I have "washed away" with nitro solvent more paint as possible.. Then I took the last 3 cans of nitro Astral paint Peugeot blue-green "Original Seventies" 1 € = 1Kg and at the first spray I started to feel better: the yellow-blue combination makes immediately a pleasent "michelin / citroen" effect..

Roxie's 2cv Amelie was the first car to be raised and protrude it's rear side waiting for months for a new rear plate holder:

Finally, as "special furnishing" for the place of the artistic guns, I find in trash and put in place a practical hot-rod cabinet..

Before evening fall, it had it's vintage fluorescent tube lighting.. bzz bzz.. Blink!

Luca, the lift looks great. I still like my idea of the safety chevrons on the posts, but even without them it looks wonderful. I'd paint the bridge the same color.

The French made very practical cars for the conditions. I have a friend in France who lives in a knackered old farmhouse only reached by a dirt track around three fields thats in a terrible state, in the winter when its really wet or snowy his main form of transport in and out is an old Renault 4 with a set of snow chains on it. Anything else short of a 4x4 with decent mud tyres on just can't get through.

I just had to read the whole topic to realise that you are living the funniest way i've ever seen! everything is looking so "in their place", even (some) lack of organization looks like it's supposed to happen.

About the lifter, i would left it in that kind-of green, looks like the colors of the european 70's and 80's industrial machines, now it don't fit 100% in the barn. But i guess that with some old-school stickers of some old-school automobile (citroen) replacement parts (as oils, tyres, lights), it will looks more fitted in that space.
