Paid $250.00 for this guy on CL. Has some rust on the bottom lip but nothing a little touch up won't take care of. Do you all have any suggestions for cleaning and getting it in tip top shape?
Looks pretty good for the price. What model is that? Friction or ball bearing? Treat it like a car. Wash with soap and water, dry thoroughly. Use a razor blade for rust and stickers. Clay bar, then polish and wax.
Check out my post I made of restoring my snap-on box I if you'd like. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=265621
Box looks great, get rid of the rust then re paint just that edge, remove drawers and soak the slides in diesel, polish it if you'd like. Other than that it looks pretty clean to me. Good purchase!
Well done, and Waggoner's thread above is a one-man show on how to repair a rusted snap-on. Yours thankfully doesn't appear to be anything like that condition.
