So I was browsing through the local online classifieds last night when I came across the ad "Antique drill press $30". Thinking it had to be a misprint I went today for a view. And well it followed me home
Turned out to be a 1930-1950 (haven't narrowed down the year just yet) cast iron forged in Canada drill press. Even came with a mortising attachment, the guy I bought it from was the great grand son of the original owner, and he just had no use for it. Still has the original motor with it that looks to have been rebuilt recently. Only thing it needs is a switch wired in. Not bad for $30!!
It looks nice next to its 1940-1950 Beaver bench top model.
