All VFDs have what is called a 'carrier frequency'. This is the frequency of the DC pulses generated by the VFD.
Most VFDs have a parameter that can adjust the carrier frequency. Higher = less noise but it's harder on the motor. If it's a basic standard motor, I'd leave it alone. If the motor is wound with spike-resistant magnet wire, it'll be ok to increase it.
Further, higher carrier frequencies will cause more bearing fluting. This is where ball bearings will fail early because they carry current from the rotor to the frame. Every VFD will cause this but higher carrier frequencies will accelerate the wear.
