Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have around 330 LF of saw cut control joints that I used Sikaflex SL as the filler. The slab itself was poured last March, and we just had our garage put up. I pressure washed the whole slab before the building went up, and I also vacuumed and cleaned out the joints, and then cleaned all of the edges with a wire brush. I then hit the joints one more time with the shop vac, and then installed backer rod 1/2" deep.
I was offered some help by a relative, and after all of that on my hands and knees, and up and down, I didn't hesitate to let him! He filled the joints high to let it level, but it did not level, and is still high. I am shaving it even with a razor, and that works good, but where the Sika overflowed to the outsides, it leaves a residue where it was before I shaved it. Kind of ugly.
What is the best way to clean this from both sides of the joint? Whatever it is, it sounds like I need to get my kneepads out again! Thanks.
