yeah, not OMG its AMG

OIF, is your middle name MacGyver? LOL
Seriously I think that is perfect.
Andy MacGyver, now that fits the bill..![]()
Thanks!yeah, not OMG its AMG

OIF: starting from scratch with the window sills really turned out nice. love the thick OAK and your so called CHEAP thermopane windows look great.
i agree how does one think up and make a tool like that to do a job that the company that made the engine couldn't? WELL DONE!!
looks like it's running great and for a while there i was thinking you were working on an engine for BOB HEINE.
I guess i'm going to have to read all of your thread cause there is a caboose on your property. did you mention how that got there, how you ended up with it or what the future or current use is?
have another great SATURDAY today and i'll do the same.
cheers
Andy, great work all round..
Ford Blue.... right answer
I think I will have to extend the "graduate engineer training graduate" program at work by the looks of things.![]()
Cheers.
Neat work on the sign and related trim. You made it all work together without losing any identity of the sign.
I dig it!

Dan, I don't think it's just you. There are no pictures on the thread based on my quick look. Apparently FUBucket is having problems. Nothing but a "hang in there" kitten on their site.Andy I'd like to make a comment but for some reason none of the pictures you posted are showing up on my laptop. I've even tried a restart and it's still not working.

Dunno... reckon MacGuyver was his apprentice(old dad joke). You know MacGuyver's(TV show role) given name is Angus right? The cows would have a field-day about that!
Angus, huh? I like to have happy cows, they have a field day every day. Sounds like a hoity toity restaurant that would serve "real Angus MacGuyver".
Goodness gracious Andy. Your garage trim also looks better than the trim in my house. Looks like Bob got it together and quit smoking too! Then there is that caboose again.
Thank you! I enjoyed making the trim. I have similar trim in the additions to my house that I have made. But it is all wider.

Watch out tho... you tell people that UPS just goes round dropping of Wilton's, Oklahoma may just become the next GJ capital. Next you'd end up running for GJ State President.![]()

Tackle him or what?
OIF: great work on the window trimming. really like how you worked the sign's trim into the window and door frame's trim.also like the unfinished router look you did and i agree looks better than stock trim you just buy and cut.
Thank you so very much!
just curious if you are going to trim out the door's jamb next to the wall like you did the other one that looked pretty nice with a piece of trim on the wall next to the door.
Yes, trim on the way, but the hinges are so close to the wall (poor planning) that the trim will be more like veneer.
interesting story how you ended up owning a CABOOSE. is one enough or would you buy another if the opportunity came up? or did i miss the for sale sign on it?
Why must more or fewer be the only options? I know they are, but why?
not sure how you keep that nice car in your Avatar so shiny while doing sheet rock, trim, engine work and the rest of your work, but i like it.
It's the light...
have a great SATURDAY![]()
Andy I'd like to make a comment but for some reason none of the pictures you posted are showing up on my laptop. I've even tried a restart and it's still not working.
I'm so sorry you failed. In your effort to not make a comment, you did in fact, make a comment!I was frustrated by no pictures. So why do they call it photo*ucket?
Thanks for the OK tag. I've posted a picture over in my shop thread.
Dan, I don't think it's just you. There are no pictures on the thread based on my quick look. Apparently FUBucket is having problems. Nothing but a "hang in there" kitten on their site.
OK, maybe WORTHLESS is a little harsh....
DAN & BOB & OIF: when i was posting just prior to Dan i saw the pictures just fine and now i don't see them either.
Oh, so you did it!!
Photobucket used to be awesome when it was free and i would have paid them to use them because they were high quality and easy to use. then they upgraded their site so i couldn't use the same methods i knew and then wanted some cash so i just download pictures like i would an email with the paperclip and attach them to my posts.
OIF: keep up the great work and although i love the bigger pictures you might want to start downloading pictures straight to GJ off your laptop. i know Imgur has issues with GJ having a classified section so maybe some of the other online photo sites will to and there goes all our great pictures and the time to post them.
I may have to start downloading pictures straight, I didn't know you could do thatI don't think I will have the energy to reload all my photographs to preserve the thread

have a great SATURDAY (yes i know it's only Friday for most of us but not for OIF cause everyday is a SATURDAY)
No pictures for me![]()

Pics are back, yes photobucket has been having issues the last few days... Great progress I love the sign and how you made the trim fit into the sign on the corners it makes it look like the sign belongs there! Oh and nice window trim it looks sharp!
OIF, I am going to have a locked room where I can read GJ, my DW has (again) walked up behind me while looking at these window trim and says to me" you could do that for me" DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG THAT WILL TAKE ME$%&^%$@#%. So, are you planning a trip Downunder?????
I'll be right over and get on the trim. It won't take any longer than it takes me to walk over to your place. Get your trees cut and and the boards milled out. Air dry them for about six years and we can start. I'll be glad to help!Andy, as per what we have come to expect you have done a great job on the trim..![]()
Thank you for your visit and the kind words! I fear you have an unrealistic expectation based on electronically photoshopped images intended to impress naive and gullible. If I can find them, I'll send you some of my negatives. I really don't understand these electronic cameras, how they can make things look so much better than they really are: So glad they weren't around when I was dating...
Andy, I hope it takes your dime and doesn't deliver a Coke! That's way beyond a THOU ****.

Totally agree..

Shouldn't we be starting daylight shaving time?
They have never taken a transcontinental flight and had to get up to speed with a six hour or more time change.Andy, you must have done something truly wonderful or horrible to get that kind of Karma! It runs and gets cold. A guy came by and said he was the seller, said it had Coke in it, and it ran. So I plugged it in when we got it home and it started and runs quietly. He lost the key so it's full of money. I was able to find a key on eBay for $11.48 free shipping.
It has rust and dings, but I think I'm going to clear coat it and have a rat box.
I had a V39 years and years ago which had a dime changer on it. It chirped and rattled as it ran. Burned up in my shop fire of 88 or 89.
This one did take three nickels so far, but we'll fix that when the key arrives. Also got a six foot glass display case for $12.
But you're right.
I **** COLD COKE ANYTIME I WANT

(that's 1/2X2)
Come on back when you want more lessons in outfitting a shed
is my humility showing?![]()

EDIT: Obviously I don't know how Karma works.![]()

OIF, I like your reply, thanks.

Since I have several old Coke bottles, I've been dreaming about whether I could in fact bottle my own. Maybe pour canned soda into a sterilized bottle, inject CO2, then manually cap it.
While sifting through the coals of my burnt out imagination I'm wondering "do grate minds think alike?"
Thanks for the visit!

Yes you can do that, look at home brew guys for bottling info, probably wouldn't even need to add additional CO2.

OIF: i just moved a box with a couple old shorty COKE bottles in it so let me know what size your machine needs if you might need a few and i'll see if i have anymore. I don't think i'll be buying a COKE machine anytime soon, but who knows i might cause i still like the stuff even if i don't drink it much or at all anymore.
It was designed for 6-1/2 oz bottles. I think mine is more flexible than some of them: I saw a you tube video of a guy dispensing cans from one like mine, with minor modifications to the box. I might have to go with cans. It doesn't look like bottles are still produced but I'm still looking.
i love reading your thread cause your sense of humor is interesting to say the least. i'm sorry i ruined your pictures for a while, but as you can see i didn't do it permanently and was just getting GJ's royalties for a few minutes. BTW still waiting for that check too even though it was said to be in the mail. speaking of which i need to ship out a few items soon or some of the guys will think i'm typing when i should be shipping. of course i like the hunt for stuff more, but that's no excuse.
cheers big guy and keep up the great stuff![]()
I can see running for the GJ State President, but what do I do if I catch him?Tackle him or what?
![]()

Thanks for the great tip! Do you think Coke bottles and beer bottles use the same cap? That would be really convenient.

Don’t know about GJ State presidents but from what I can tell they are all eventually full of fertiliser. Should be great for pasture, broom corn or a row of pumpkin vines.
Reminds me of "The Plan", not original by me
The Plan
In the beginning was The Plan
And the workers said The Plan was sh*t and stunk
The foremen reported The Plan was manure and smelled strongly
The supervisors reported The Plan was odorous fertilizer
The managers reported The Plan was strong and good for growth
And so The Plan was implemented as policy
The workers were not surprised
Depending if it is screw top or not… just a different crimping die.
So old glass Coke bottles should take home brew beer caps? That's great news. I may bottle my own Coke. Wouldn't want to sell it!
Go for cans... you can recycle them yourself.
Cans are the most practical, and 8 oz are better than 12 oz for kids.
You should see how much original coke bottle molds/dies go for! There is actually a small market for after-market molds too. Sure you can blow some glass bottles while your are melting brass… just need to add an annealing kiln to the smithy.![]()
I worked for coca cola for years. When I first started it was independently owned, when several of us were going on Canadian fishing trips and right before deer season (like a week or so ago) We would work late after punching out pump a premade batch of coke into the small mix tank insert the choice of blend into it and start the bottle line and bottle our own whiskey cokes for the journey had nice coke crowns on the bottles and all. Nobody ever looked at them even at the border. some times the fellows at deer camp were a bit surprised when they popped a cold pop. It tastes like whiskey coke ?? LOL

and thought she was more crazy!
Kinda freaky!
