Clear coat after Legacy epoxy question

Didn't add this to my thread, since its a specific question

Ok, so I am going to do the clear coat this evening on my Legacy epoxy , which was done yesterday.

I know that you can get 350 - 400 sq ft per gal on the urethane, and my garage is only about 250 sq ft. SO I am wondering if it will be worth while doing two coats of clear? Or just a thicker (if doable) one coat of clear?

I had left over epoxy and primer, so I know I could've gone thicker on those, so not sure if it's now worth a thicker coat or two of clear?

Thanks

Do not put it on thicker. Urethane is not like epoxy. You can get bubbles, clouding, and a possible orange peel effect if put on thick. 2 Thin coats are better than one thick coat. I would recommend applying it as you should and see what you have left over.

Did you apply color flakes? If you have a lot then it takes more urethane. If you have few or none at all then you might have enough left over.

Definitely worth it if you have enough. It increases the durability over the long run for little investment.

Pictures like this piss me off.

Nice work. ;)

LOL thanks... Doing the second coat of clear tonight, and done:rocker:

I should've have given it a second coat of the base, but thought I wouldn't need it, so hopefully making up some of the durability issues with the clear coat second coat.

Well I gave it the second coat of clear yesterday evening... I'm done... now just let it cure for a few days.

So far, everyone that has seen it has loved it... definitely good start.

Looks great, nice Job!

Thank you..not too shabby for my first floor.. I can't imagine some of the guys here doing much bigger garages :scared: with epoxy
