What ever you decide to use make sure to do a test piece first. Paint a test piece now so it will have plenty of dry time before the clear test.

An internal roof ladder that’s about 14’. I’ve already sprayed it with rustoleum oil based enamel.
And my Jeep wranglers rims. Haven’t painted the rims yet.
Have never used oil base clear before, but I'd go talk to a auto body paint suply store. They'll have a product called flatner. You add it to the clear, the more you add the flatter it gets. I just don't know if it would be compatible with oil based clear.
