As always with Lowe's YMMV. I just picked up 2 hammers at Lowes on clearance.

Stanley 16 oz Smooth Angle Handle Hammer (ball-pein) for $7.49 was $29.98
http://www.lowes.com/pd_91473-355-54-716_0__?productId=1201889&Ntt=91473&pl=1

and

Bostitch 22 oz Milled Straight Handle Hammer (checkered face framer) for $6.24 was $24.98
http://www.lowes.com/pd_327010-355-51-860_0__?Ntt=327010&productId=3199905&rpp=32

$55 bucks worth of hammers for less than $14 :D

They also had some good deals on roofing hatchets, not that I have a use for one.

I bought that ball-pein hammer last night!

Really nice piece, especially for 7.49!

I just came here to post these! Bought a couple vaughns tonight. 25 dollar hammers for 6 bucks! Can't beat a good US made hammer for 6 bucks. They also had stanleys and some kobalt on clearance for 6 bucks. And the roofing hatchet like mentioned.

I also picked up a handful of Nicholson files that were on clearance for about a buck a piece. Most were made in US.

Noticed all the channel locks and knipex pliers were on clearance in the electrical section.

Almost seems like the getting rid of all the good or American made tools.

I grabbed a 4lb mini-sledge for $8. There was a 22oz Kobalt framing hammer with the magnetic nail-holder for $8 that I was eyeing. But I try to stay away from woodworking, so I don't have much need for one. I have a Eastwing 24oz if I need it.

There were several more Bosch and Vaughn's on clearance as well.

I also picked up a 36" crowbar for $8...

Picked up the 4lb sledge today for $3.99 at my local Lowes. Price was marked at $7 and change. Took it up to CS to check the price and came up $3.99!
Even the lady working customer service was surprised.

My local store in woodhaven MI was out of all of these hammers. I did pick up two Stanley wrecking bars on clearance. I wish there was a way to find stores online local to me that had these items in stock for the clearance price. To my knowledge certain Lowes stores only will honor the clearance price.

Has anyone else had this issue with trying to score these deals? Did you just show them the online price to get the deal?

I got screwed on the 4lb. It was $8 and some change at the Lowes I went to. I went to a different one today and it was marked at $3.99 (but an empty shelf). I'm gonna take the receipt back and see if they will price match it...

Went to the canton ga store today. No mini sledges marked down, but a bunch of other hammers. Also grabbed some of the cheap files. Most are us made, a few sizes that I needed anyway in Brazil. Tempted by the knipex stuff, but the 30 for the mini bolt cutters was too much, even on clearance. Everything rang up to right at 100.

I hope you didn't pay the $14 for that hatchet. They are on clearance just about everywhere else for $4.74

There is ONE hammer on clearance at my local Lowes (Rogers, AR). It's a 20oz Bostitch framing hammer marked down from $19.98 to $16.98.

The 1 1/4 pound Kobalt hatchet is $18.98.

I randomly stopped by Lowes today and there was another 4lb sledge on the shelf (there wasn't any a few days ago). I snatched it up.

There's a Kobalt framing hammer for $9 and some change...50% off...but still a little high for me to bite. Maybe when it comes down to $3.99...
