hey david, heres what i have.i mic'd the washer and my battery died on the mic before i could read it.but what i did was match the gap with something you could copy.i used two regular razor blades stacked.it's the same snuff fit as the washer was without crushing it.closest i can get for ya,maybe you can put the two blades together and mic them to see what you have.right now all my clearences are good except i have to find a way to stop the bolt from turning, when you turn the knob.check the pics

Thanks for the pics. The parts diagrams call for another nut to be placed on the bolt on the pulley side of the front casting. Since the front casting is threaded for the bolt as well you can tighten the nut down so the bolt doesn't rotate.

david,i cleaned up that last nut and put it on there.i ended up adjusting it a little more, then put a quarter turn on it to lock it down, seems to be great now.i did run into a small issue tho with the pulley cover.turns out that i have to trim about a 1/4 inch off two inside corners to clear the motor housing, guess there was a hair more room on the stock motor.

heres a little somethin i made up today, large bullet knobs.turned a chunk of aluminum, and made a brass slug for the end. then put them in the press and joined them.i made the primer out of a piece of #6 bare copper wire.drilled a hole and plugged it with the wire, then shaved off the extra and gave it a slight recess.

don't know if i'm gonna go this way,and if not,one of my buddies already wants this one for his desk.

today was a great day,i had friend stop by and he knew a guy that could wire the controller for me,took him about ten minutes. we are now officially up and running.i still have to adjust the tension on the rod that control's the variable speed pulley and make the knobs, but other than that were about wrapped up.another thing i finally got done was to spend about an hour on the chuck this morning.after putting it in the vise and using about a half of can of wd-40,it's now working perfectly.and that's after the pb blaster soak, and two day's of sitting in parts cleaner.

i've decided against the bullet knobs, gonna just make some simple long knobs for the handles out of aluminum.i'll just polish them and keep them plain jane.

Hey Chris, I got the Clausing stickers. Thanks!! BTW, I have my parts fully stripped, blasted, and now primed. Everything on the cardboard will be gloss smoke gray and everything on the black mat will be gloss white.

cool you got the stickers, and that color combo your goin with should look real nice.i've had more than one person ask me about the stickers,so i'm just going to post here how they were done.

i have a friend who own's a graphic design place, they do all kinds of vinyl signs, wraps, stickers ect. what i did was,i removed all the badges and plates from mine and brought them to him.he then measured them and put the numbers in the computer.then used whatever computer stuff they use to make stickers that looked exactly like the originals.only thing i changed on mine was the depth gauge.i think it use to be white with black numbers,i had him do the back round in silver so it matched everything else.

all the stickers where printed about a 16th larger than the original plate so they could be trimmed around the edges.

only issue i ran into was that the original badges have raised markings,so i flipped them over and put the stickers on the smooth sides of the plates.they came out very clean and flat this way.as for the vinyl used,i think it was 6mil.if you have this done, have them use heavy vinyl,it will help you when you apply it.also clean your surface area with laquer thinner before setting them

hopefully this helps a little to the ones who asked.

Wow. Did something happen to OP? January 1 he's there, giving us insights as to the stickers, and then goes black. I sure hope he's ok. It was a long ride for him, and for us reading, to get to that point. Sure hope it wasn't a bad thing that happened. Many thanks, no matter where you are.
