I need some various shapes cut out of 3/4" plywood. Can be handled on a 2'x4' gantry. I can provide dxf files. Any suggestions?

I don't think your Tormach will handle the size parts the OP expressed interest in - he's looking for two feet by four feet. It's sure nice of you to offer your services though.

It's pretty cool having a CNC mill at your disposal isn't it? I've got a competitor to the Tormach, the Pulsar by Novakon. It's all servo drives and works like a champ.

We've also got a CNC electrical enclosure fab machine at work that will do 5' x 8' that I get to play with when I want :)

Ed.....post up a pic of what you need made. Even though some CNC tables are smaller, the part still could possibly be made using some construction holes as a reference point,

Call around to local custom sign shops. They will either be able or most often know of a little guy operating out of his garage to point you in the direction of. There are SO many people out there running CNC routers in that size on the side, it's very competitive.

Hi Mike , My Tormach 1100 can handle 18 inches in the X, 9.5 in the Y and 16 inches in the Z . we have a automatic tool changer as well as 4th axis ( which we have to used yet ) In the past for larger parts we have used multiple setup working of datum within the fixturing / vise to cut those parts . We also have a full manual machine shop so it is pretty much endless what we can do . PM Me if you would like to discuss your project further . I am located in RI. have great day

Manwithtools,

1st i love the screen name !! i grew up with a machine shop in the basement so anything was possible , i squared my 1st block of steel on a Boyer Schultz surface grinder at age 13 . My dad has been a Toolmaker for the past 50 years , he is now retired but still comes around the shop daily to play with his machines . I branched off and discovered cnc at my last job running a Bench man as well as Micron VSP 600 with 45,000 rpm spindle and 35 place tool changer , i used my experience as a Toolmaker to find ways to make things faster and use the manual machines more effectively . A year ago i decided it was time for me to do what i like so i opened a shop servicing fishing reels , and purchased my new Tormach 1100 after looking at many i picked Tormach basically because of the tool changer , this allows me to run the machine while i do something else the concept works great , like having an employee with out issues . i will always be building something enjoy the machine they are all about the same it is all in how you use it .
