Have any of you guys had issues/troubles with Coastal Tool Supply? I ordered/paid for a Sunex prybar cabinet back in mid June and of course they took the money at time of order and after a week and a half I had no tracking info so I contacted them. The customer service person told me it was not in stock and that it would ship in a week and a half. I asked why was it not listed as out of stock on the website or order confirmation? Her reply" we don't list items out of stock". So I decide to wait.

Well after two week and half periods of waiting I call again, same story different customer service person, so I tell her that well after 5 weeks I am done waiting I could of bought it elsewhere and had been using it. I then advise her to cancel the order and refund me my money, so says okay. Well that was last Wednesday, today I check and no credit to my account so I call.

This time I speak to a guy, I forgot his name (wrote it down at work) but I am pretty sure his parents should of named him ****. He starts off with an attitude and then after going thru all of the issues with him he then tells me that he can't give a credit and that he must send the credit request in at the end of the day in writing and the credit deparment will review it.

I know this Coastal Tool Supply has a few other wesbsites and goes by some other names, but I must say I've received nothing but bad attitude and no service. Have any of you had any luck with these schmucks?

I have bought several tools from them over the years and never had a problem. All of the online vendors seem to be running things close to the vest lately though with the economy turning bad and that might have changed. I would call back in the morning and talk to a different person. Is this on a credit card? If yes, file a protest with your card company and don't give them an inch. Stay on top of it and make sure you get the cash back.

I've spoken to 4 different people there and I filed a protest to get my money back. What frustrates me the most is that they don't have a shread of apologetic attitude. I understand that things happen in business, they have four different websites operating under different names that all pull from the same inventory (a recipe for disaster IMO) so things like this can happen. If one of them would of been somewhat careing and they would of given me a realistic delivery date I would of been open to keeping the order going.

I know how you feel. I have had some of the same problems with ToolTopia but everyone else seems to get an order from them without a problem (at least they didn't charge my card until it shipped). Most any online vendor does a good job when something is in stock but they all have a problem when drop shipping an item they is out of stock.

That is no excuse for having an attitude when they don't perform however.

A call to your credit card company after the first failed refund would have been my avenue. All you should have to do is dispute the charge, explain what happened They will put a hold on the payment and contact the company.

Interesting update, I canceled my order after getting jacked around for 5 weeks with constant promises of "it will ship next Wednesday", well they then took every minute of a month available to issue a refund via PayPal (who I initially paid them through -had some extra money in there the wife didn't know about then...). The refund came from USAToolwarehouse.

A few days after the refund is issued I receive an email from USA Toolwarehouse advising me they now have the Sunex cabinet I was looking for in stock. So with this I send a blazing email stating that it takes a lot of balls to now say you have in stock after screwing me around and that its wrong to come across as doing me a favor when I was the guy jacked around by them. Of course no response.

Until last night when I receive an invoice from NTXTOOLS.com for the same Sunex SUN-8011BL pry bar cabinet, for the exact amount as what I had ordered from Coastal Tool Supply along with a UPS tracking number via email. I checked the tracking number and it is enroute to my house, delivery set for tomorrow. If I had orderd the damn thing I would had it shipped to my work.

I bet now they expect me to pay for the thing....this should be interesting. What would you guys do?

What ever you do don't contact the BBB, in my opinion it's a total waste of time as companies pay to support it. I'm assuming you're American, if so does your State Attorney General have a business complaint section? If so you could try that. Another option is your credit card company if paid that way. Was it billed via paypal, I think you mentioned something abou that in the OP? If so contact Paypal for their advice/action.

It was paid originally thru PayPal utilizing my balance in my account, so it wasn't indirectly drawn from a credit card. The invoice sent says prepayment is necessary, which obviously based on the tracking info they weren't prepaid. I am wondering if they are trying to pull something thru Paypal were after the fact the go back to them and say "he received the item" and then rebill me thru Paypal. Not 1000% on all of Paypal's interactions with vendors.

I have had excellent results from involving the BBB in a matter between an Ameriprise Financial representative and myself. I am willing to give them the majority of the credit in getting my money refunded, although I did write a letter to the president of Ameriprise also.

maybe them shipping it out after you getting a refund will get lost in the shuffle and you get it for free.... it will cost them more to pay ups to do a pickup and have to send a new empty box seeing as you "opened it" to see what it was as you werent expecting anything.... think of it as your free gift for getting jagged around

If you have the order cancellation confirmation in hand and a refund, you've got yourself a free prybar cabinet. If the order was cancelled, money refunded that transaction was completed. They mistakenly sent you an unsolicited shippment. If they bill it is easily handled, if they take the money from PayPal you can contact them and they will take it back from them. Just hang on to it and when they contact you ask them when they are coming to pick it up. Eventually they will give up but it will be a hassel for a little while, but less than 5 weeks I would guess.

I had a dispute over a restocking fee one time, the vendor lied through his teeth and the credit card company took his side! They never even gave me a chance to rebut him. I had proof in the form of emails and voicemails, he just lied with no proof of anything. I lost about $350 and found a new credit card company.

I wish I would have known the other "business" names that this place uses, I ordered a impact gun cover for a CP gun, 3 emails and a phone call all the same ****, it will ship at the end of week, we are waiting for the order from manufacure, finally said cancel and filed dispute with PayPal. I ordered from usatoolwarehouse.com. thanks for letting me rant, I know this thread is kind of old.

Any update on these guys?

Google review searches are both good and bad... they've got the jack stands I want for less then 50% everywhere else, which is an auto warning sign to me.

i have bought from them directly, and thru amazon. their amazon store is:

https://www.amazon.com/s?marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&merchant=A2B0AMG531PR8B

if you are leery, buying through amazon should help. i have found their amazon prices to be different from the web site prices. sometimes higher, sometimes lower. unless they were substantially lower, i would go thru amazon. the amazon store also charges 7.95$ shipping. while it looks like for each item, if you buy several in one cart, the shipping goes up by some small increment for each additional item.

if you really feel brave, you can go to http://www.ntxtools.com, they also have a different price on what you are looking for, and the 7.95$ shipping. it is my impression that it is the same people, although possibly a different location.

trying to confuse your customers seems to be the new big thing.

This isn't the first story I've read like this. I buy a lot of tools and what not online. I never, ever bother even looking at any of these guy's websites. Literally its 50/50 as every thread on here based on these companies has 5 people who had no problem and 5 people who got screwed somehow or had some problem. To me its not worth the risk.

After my initial issues with NTX, I've been fine and have received some good deals. Lots of details in this thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171445

1. They lie. Blatantly, often and without care.
2. They take your money and don't tell you they don't have the item. They don't care.
3. They take their sweet time with stuff.

BUT.

I do believe after speaking with them and having them resolve my issues, that they do intend to deliver the products to you.

I've had nothing but good experiences with NTXtools.com, though I haven't ordered from any of their other sister/alternate businesses.

Most recent order was just this past December, everything went great.
