Coating 3yr old concrete in my shop....problems?

I poured the floor in my shop about 3 years ago. At the time I didn't want to mess with coating the floor with anything. It's still relitivily clean, but I've got a few spots here and there where or or grease has got on the floor. Can I go back and coat the floor now, or is it going to be a pain in the ****? What will I need to clean the concrete with?

Also, what's something that is easy to apply but will stand up to the abuse of pulling boat trailers and cars/trucks around on the floor without pulling the coating up or wrinkling it up?

Any advice would be great. Oh, the shop is 30'x40'.

You would need to de-grease the floor. There are a number of products on the market that can get this done.

Afterwards, I always suggest grinding your concrete before applying coatings. This insures adhesion (bonding) of the coating to your concrete floor. There are a number of systems you can go with. A very common and proven system is epoxy / urethane. If you do a quick search on the forum you will find a plethora of information.

ABSOLUTELY what Benwah said. Then you can decide if you want a sealer or an epoxy. If you want a sealer you will do a much finer grind.

Once ground, place some water where the spots were. They should not bead water.
