Lately with the cold weather my daily driver a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac has been clunking on these terrible roads.
I replaced my shocks, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, tires, and rebuilt all the calipers 6,000 miles ago and it has been running great and quiet.
If I hadn't replaced the shocks I would have said I need new shocks as the noise seemed to come from all four corners depending on the bumps I drove over.
So I wondered does the cold air affect shocks? Yesterday and today we are having a temporary warm up, and the clunking has disappeared.
Truck rides really nice now.
Pretty sure these are KYB nitrogen filled shocks.
