Welcome to team Blue Q, fflintstone.
I allways thought Quincy was the best. I would have been really happy with an IR, speedair or champion, but I really had a stiffy geting a Quincy for $400!

Here's a couple of pictures of part of one of the compressors i work on, but they are not actually in my garage![]()
The're made by a company called Sulzer Burckhardt, put out 1600cfm, at 2000psi, have five seperate compression stages, are watercooled between stages and require an 800hp electric motor to drive them.![]()

Nice compressors! Noticed you're not wearing any hearing protection though!?
Mines maroon.
Can I still be on Team Blue?![]()
Anyone have recommendations on where to buy parts and oil, preferably a helpful Quincy dealer?
Thanks,I have a local Quincy dealer that I buy oil/air filters from as well as gallon jugs of QuinSyn oil. You should have one in your area but it might take a call to Quincy to find out.
By the way, that is a NICE compressor.
Yes, I too think it is heavy, but the forklift has no complaintsi know setting my quincy was a royal pain that mother HAS to be heavy as hell
Here's my other one. Sorry for the crappy pic.
It started life as a 25 hp single stage Gardner Denver. Obviously I can't run a 25 hp three phase motor in my residental garage. I'm hoping to slow the pump down enough that I can run a single phase 10hp motor. The tag on the pump says with the 25hp motor the pump RPM was 870. I think, if I slow it down to about 350, I should be able to run a 10hp single phase motor. Hopefully that's still fast enough for the pump to get proper lubrication. If it works, it should be quiet and make a fair amount of air for me.
BTW: I got it the way it sits for free.![]()
Nice GD compressor, is it a ADL-1010?
Here's my new compressor. I just got it this week from Eaton. It's a 80 gallon,2 stage, 7.5 h.p. motor with a 10 h.p. pump that runs at 640 rpm. I don't have electric ran to it yet so I don't know how quiet it is..it's supposed to be pretty quiet though. At least I hope it is! Gotta call the electrician on Monday and get it hooked up. Now I just gotta decide what I wanna do about vibration isolators. McMaster has some nice ones...just gotta decide which ones I want to buy.

That is some HD shelving outlaw - Looks like thousands of pounds of stuff up there!!
Tell me, does the compressor make COLD air??![]()
Just bought this "Bad Boy"

or he just uses his forklift a LOTI take it you don't use the tire changer very much...

This is my compressor -- ONE of hundreds -- this one is in Vietnam --
MADE in USA -- I travel the world repairing and installing compressors! And in between I am home building my dream garage to enjoy when I retire!
Joe B.
PS -- it would be enough air to supply a city of garages - NON STOP !!
Hey -- I do the same thing for CAMERON ---
Here is a pic of me and one of mine in Italy and one in Saudi Arabia!
Great to see ya!!
Joe B.
Before I saw you and yours on the site I put up pics of a new one I just finished in Vietnam! But I am not in the picture!
Take care!
i'd adapt it to gas or sell it. Keeping it electric would cost a small fortune in both converting it for home use and then running it. Even 3 phase, assuming you're setup for it at home, its probably still close to a 20 amp draw.
Most 3 phase 15 hp motors have a 40A Full Load Amperage rating.
This motor (GE made) has a rating of 38.8A at 230V / 19.4A at 460V. This would make it pull a little less than my welder at 220V... Granted, it will probably run a little more than I run my welder.

7.5 HP is max on 1PH you can get 10HP but price is way out of line and your power company will have fits.
